Title Bug

On the 31st Dec, 2013, the title bug was exposed, allowing players to change their title to any of the Well of Goodwill (the Charitable) or Seasonal High Score titles. Do you think this bug is bannable?

It is a harmless bug after all and Jagex only issues bans if the bug abused had significant and resounding effects on the game or the economy.

I don't think something customisable and clearly a fault of Jagex's programming can be found bannable in any way.

What do you guys think?

 

Nah its not like you gained billions of gp off it bro your good. Its just a cosmetic thing really , so you can pretend you donated bills of gp haha.

 

Jagex don't like being shown they aren't infallible and don't like people abusing bugs, no matter how minor the bugs are. You may not be banned but you might.

 

In all these glitches that are abused its really up to Jagex to see whether it affected the game or whether it is too small/big to be bannable. So its really up to Jagex in my opinion.

 

They patched it last night. My title was removed in game and changed to one of the WE2 title ", Bandosian Warrior" but on the forums, my title is still ",The Charitable".

 

Jagex doesn't ban for bug abuse anymore really. Even for those that are take advantage of other players/exploitable for money (e.g. the invincibility staking glitch).

 

They only really ban for glitches if you constantly abuse it to gain. I.e. the penguin point glitch that time - they only banned those who abused it to gain hundreds of thousands of exp and not those that tried it for a level or 2.

 

You wont be banned for a simple bug like this.

 

IMO you won't be banned, but the final decision is up to JaGeX.
