Band Formation 101!​

Vocals:
I've got my band together, but they have different ideas then me. Help!
First things first. You must get ideas sorted before you start doing anything. This includes: Bands genre, image, etc. If the band does not agree 100% at the start, it'll make it hard for successful progress in the future. Of course, the band will disagree on things here & there. But, the least arguing, the better. Note: You may be the front man, but you are not the band. Deflate your head.

Guitar/Bass:
Do I write my music to the vocals or what?
Its usually for you and the vocalist to decide.(Along with the other guitarists and bassist) Just make sure what you're writing is suitable to the lyrics/genre. You can't have a heavy breakdown along side your vocalist singing "Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone...".

Drums:
I seem to be smothering the other members with my drum kit. Tips?
Make sure you have a suitable drum kit for your style. People may think that all drum kits are the same. However, they're very different. OT: If your kit is too loud, get some mute pads or as your fellow members to louden the fu..turn up their amps

Other:
Your instrument will fall into one of those categories.

Remember to discuss any issues you have with your fellow band members.

It's not a walk in the park, guys. It will take a lot of effort.
