How to create a ENEMY in 10 steps.

Notice. Read this and explanations below for why I believe this should be posted. Yes I know its a song, but I feel it has a very strong point about our current culture.

1 ) Create the enemy. Sometimes this will be done for you.

2 ) Be sure the enemy you have chosen is nothing like you. Find obvious differences like race, language, religion, dietary habits, fashion, etc. Emphasize that their soldiers are not doing a job, and that they are heartless murderers who enjoy killing

3 ) Once these differences are established continue to reinforce them with all disseminated information.

4 ) Have the media broadcast only the ruling party’s information. This can be done through state run media.
REMEMBER, in times of conflict all for-profit media repeats the ruling party’s information. Therefore all for-profit media becomes state-run.

5 ) Show this enemy in actions that seem strange, militant, or different. Always portray the enemy as non-human, evil, a killing machine.

6 ) Eliminate opposition to the ruling party. Create an “Us versus Them” mentality. Leave no room for opinions in between. One that does not support all actions of the ruling party should be considered a traitor.

7 ) Use nationalistic and/or religious symbols and rhetoric to define all actions. This can be achieved by slogans such as “freedom loving people versus those who hate freedom.” This can also be achieved by the use of flags.

8 ) Align all actions with the dominant deity. It is very effective to use terms like, “It is god’s will” or “god bless our nation.”

9 ) Design propaganda to show that your soldiers have feelings, hopes, families, and loved ones.
Make it clear that your soldiers are doing a duty; they do not want or like to kill.

10 ) Create and atmosphere of fear, and instability and then offer the ruling party as the only solutions to comfort the public’s fears. Remember, the fear of the unknown is always the strongest fear.

    Song.

I am a pacifist so I believe some of these are needing to be understood.

A lot of wars have started just the way these are stated above. Both sides do this to each other.

Why? There are various reasons for war, to me they can all be avoided if both sides took place to do so.

    1. Power.
Currently in North Korea we are viewing Kim John Yill (excuse spelling) of being a evil dictator.

Why? He now has nucular weapons. Less then 1% of our supply of them more then likely.
He will not relinquish them? This is because the same thing that happened with south korea would happen with the north. His government would be overthrown fast without some sort of threat. A needless self defense in the first place, but one none the less.

    2. Money

This counts for basic necessities as well. I will not bother going into it, because everyone should know the reasons behind this. If we would work together instead of fighting though, there are much better ways to over come this.

    3. Respect.

Everyone yearns for others respect. This is a poor showing of intelligence in my idea, simply because it is not worth fighting over. Respect can account for many religious wars.

So argue with me. Why should we fight? And I am not talking about self defense, I am talking about why should we fight period.

How to create a ENEMY in 10 steps.

First off, we fight because it is simple human nature. All the reasons you stated above are reasons for fighting yes but the underlying fact is we just enjoy it. Now when I say enjoy it I mean that it pleases some sort of primal center in our brain, not makes us giddy for bloodshed.

Now 'why should we fight?', well everyone believes their ideals are the best and unfortunately the only alternative to fighting is to converse and meet an agreement which poses two problems 1.) Almost no one will listen to compromise if their resolve is strong enough. 2.) Someone will have to give up some of their side sense no compromise can be 50/50, one side must be seen as a stronger force and that will either be shown through percentages or military force.
So back again to 'Why should we fight?' well, we should because we have to. Unless everyone in the world begins thinking exactly alike (which I hope we never have to see) then war will never stop, it never changes, it'll never cease.

(lol flashback to fallout 3 when i wrote 'it never changes'

People fight because it is natural to preserve one's self. With the instinct comes selfishness which leads to greed. Additionally, killing is the easiest and surest way to resolve verbal or intellectual conflict.

I state the compromising problem. there is a even simpler idea to agree to disagree as we have done with Russia/China for 50 years now.

Its not a forced thing to fight, unless its self defense, or your needing nourishment of some sort (cannibalism is bad but in certain situations it may be necessary for survival) there is no true reason not to compromise in some sort of way.

Not being able to compromise is usually a lack of intelligence on one side in my opinion.
So its innate to be selfish?
Explain to me why some countries have no problems with a large amount of their citizens do not feel greed. Sweden is the prime example.

Depends on the person. There is documented proof that the damage you do to yourself is a horrible thing for your mind.
    Code:
It's difficult to find a first hand account of how one feels after committing this type of murder, because for most it does cause internal pain and regret--most people wouldn't enjoy talking or posting they're experiences of it.
Got this out of my psychology book.

How to create a ENEMY in 10 steps.

Actually when it comes to reptilian tier of our brain, we are given the basic instincts of survival (this is where fight or flight comes from). It is this section that provides us with the animal instincts and with that the need for some form of dominance (or in turn to be submissive in some cases). Combine that with the reptilian brains power to overcome the mammalian and primate brain's when induced with rage or some form of emotional attachment that causes someone to revert to pure instinct.

So when it comes down to it, yes your right, fighting isn't a forced thing. But, it is a instinctual and normal action. We like to think we have the ability to look down on such a thing because we have the capacity, and the knowledge, and the logic to understand this concept and refute it, but in reality all those things do is give us the ability to justify our actions with greater reasoning.

This comment by itself shows a lack of intelligence. Your assuming that compromise is the best route, but to what end? If you want all of something, your not going to settle for a small piece.

"A just war is always better than an unjust peace"
This pretty much can explain the feeling on the subject. Although each side will determine on it's own what it think just and unjust can be classified as. Thus making compromise hardly the best route.

I don't think we should fight. Any problem or disagreement that arises can and should be settled over a nice meal at Olive Garden. Chicken parmesan and some extra meatballs.
