    #!# A guide to using tor //Any/OS

    Hello World! Today's guide will be focused on using tor, an anonmyizer that uses SOCKS5 proxies.

    About this guide::
    In this guide I will show you how to use tor, you could use tor for irc, web browsing, and even instant messaging.

    <guide>

    Before we begin, we need a copy of tor, you may get it from:
    http://www.torproject.org/

    It is a small file, and installation is simple. When you start up tor, it will automatically connect to the tor network. This may take a few moments. After it connects you will see a box that looks similar to this:

    Now you will need to configure your application to use tor's services. For this example I will be using the SeaMonkey web browser.

    First we need to select that it is a SOCKS V5 proxy.

    After that, we will specify our proxy host is 127.0.0.1

    Finally, the port that we're going to use setup tor to use will be 9050.

    Further Information::

    When you click the "Use New Identity" button on tor's interface, all of your new connections will use a different proxy. When you are finished using the tor service, go back to your proxy settings and select "no proxy", or in this case, "Connect to the internet directly".

    To stop using tor, first select the "Stop Tor" butten, then select "Exit".

    </guide>

    That concludes my Tor tutorial, it's a very basic, easy to use program that doesn't really require any setting up.
