How to check if someone is trusted.

So i've noticed a lot of people have been asking this question, and in reality there is no standard answer for it and it's based purely on everyone's perception. So i would like to share my tips and tricks i like to use before working with people when big amounts of money are involved.

1. Quality of their vouches.
Forget about amount of vouches completely, a person can have 200 vouches and not a single trade where he was trusted with anything substantial, make sure to ALWAYS read the vouches! Also make sure they're real by checking who gave them, if the majority of vouches come from newcomers they could be fake.

2. Customer feedback.
Vouch threads are not always the best way to find out how a person deals with customers. I highly suggest picking a few well known names from their vouches and contacting these people personally to ask how the trade went and if there were any serious issues after that(usually applies for account sales, because people leave vouch right after trade and issue can come up weeks or months later).

3. Gray area test.
You can learn a lot about a person by giving him a chance to scam you in a situation where you couldn't prove anything. It's a lot better to find out someones intentions by losing a small amount of money than something big later if you're planning to trust them with a lot of money in the long term.

Example of such test:
Imagine you bought an account of someone and want to make sure they're not planning to steal your items. Best way to do so, would be to let account sit offline for a few days and ask a person to unlock/recover the account for you(would work a lot better if you brag about winning a lot of money few days before that). If you see the person has logged into the account before giving you the access back to it that's a huge red flag, because there is no other reason for him to login himself unless he's checking if there is anything worth scamming in there. (Keep in mind these recoveries possess a slight risk to give jagex a flag for rwt so only use it if you find it worth the risk).



Also a friendly tip, always google the seller which you're buying something from to see who are you dealing with. Recommended phrases "Username scam" "Username sythe" "username report sythe" "username report powerbot" "username report osbot" and similar ones (also try to find out their previous names as some users always change them to escape the past)

 

Very usefull information. However you mentioned nothing about being a donor, which in my point of view helps as well with trustworthyness.

 

It's not useless but you shouldn't trust someone just because he is a donator
