How to buy a Runescape 3 account?

I have found a user selling an account I'd like to buy, but I never did that before. How do I avoid getting scammed? What should I take care of?

PS: Since the trade is through Paypal, would it be safe to go first and then ask for chargeback in case of scam?

A middleman can be used to make sure that you will not get scammed by the seller, as the account information and your payment will be sent to the middleman. After the middleman checks the account information is correct, he will then send payment to the seller, and you will receive the account information simultaneously as well.

However, a middleman can only be used to ensure that you get the account, but in case of recovered accounts, the middleman is by no means responsible.

 

Don't buy accounts. The seller will always be able to recover his account. If you really want to buy an account then make sure the seller is very trusted.

the lower the feedback the higher risk of recovery (in most cases)

 

I would advise creating an account and paying for levelling rather than outright buying the account - that way it remains yours, albeit more expensive that way.
