just bought a laptop

My question is how do u guys get internet on ur laptop?

Right now my only option is to hook it up to the router on my home computer but obviously i would like to access the internet other places besides right next to my home computer.

Any info is appreciated

Your fucked if it doesnt.
Get your ISP CD if you cant and it will configure it to your router

 

i have no idea, how would i go about finding that out

Ok when you got your router it should have come with a CD.
Find that CD and it will aut configure.
Can i ask what operating System?

Ok.In the bottom right hand cornerr.
THere should be an icon of computers with a RED X over it. RIght click that and click connect to a network. And a CD is a Disc

 

CD: Compact Disk. I lol'd.

Anyway, I'm assuming you want wireless access? If that is so, first you need to find out whether or not the laptop has wireless capabilities. Post the model number and specifications here. If it doesn't, chances are your "very fast" laptop is actually a fairly old model, and you will probably need to buy a USB or PCMCIA wireless adaptor.

they asking me for user and pass from my router and no idea wat it is

 

At the back of the router there is a small button. get a pen and press and hold for 10 seconds.then there will be no pass or user

 

There may be a network key on youre hub or router.

 

mind telling me exactly wat the reset button does b4 i press it...lol

 

can any1 tell me wat pressing this reset button will do

 

It wll just reset password. Thats why its called reset.its used for when the internet password is forgotten and to resolve transmitting problems.

Bunch of idiots. Get a USB moden stick, and you can have internet wherever you go. Their preety cheap to but the speeds are crap.

 

i have a usb stick

do i need a specific one?
how do i get internet with it

 

u can get like USB internet thats what i got on my other laptop, its an ok internet u can take it any where.
