Stuck on Summers End

I'm in the first room and I filled 3 pits with 5 logs each. I lit all of them and nothing happens.... The beast keeps attacking me and does not move into the next room - am I doing something wrong or is this quest just stupid? I've tried like 4 times already and have died once. I've read guides and none of them helped...

Someone tell me what I'm doing wrong please?

 

I vaguely remember doing the quest, however I searched a guide briefly. Are you getting a cut scene every time you light a fire? When you say nothing happens do you mean like you see the cut scenes and after you have lit 3 nothing happens? Or literally nothing happens in general?

 

There were cut-scenes.

Anyway, everything is working fine now - I logged out and back in and the beast strolled into the next room once I went into the cave...

 

Like scott said, you should be getting a cutscene each firepit you do.

Yea it's 5 logs per pit, and it's 3 pits.
I have no idea what you're doing wrong, tbh.
