How much internet does RS use?

Hey everyone, lately I've been noticing that my family has been going through our 10GB internet plan fairly fast, as in, we use the 10GB about 10 days before our plan resets, and I'm pretty sure it's me running my 4 bots. So I was just wondering, how much internet does RuneScape use per hour for each bot? (Not all of them combined)

RuneScape is not taking much internet. I've got limited connection on my laptop and checked that.
Browsing sites & downloading = much internet

 

The big killers are media related - such as youtube.

 

I thought so, and I try to stay off youtube and stuff like that. I think that there is a console command and it says how much internet is being used per second, anyone know what it is?

 

Runescape itself barely uses anything, but stay off listening to songs from youtube and stuff like that. I doubt it's your fault.

 

Just don't use browser so much. I know its hard lol

 

The term you're looking for is bandwidth not internet btw and even if you are running bots for long periods of time, it should affect your plan because it's streaming information much like a youtube video does to your computer. What eats a lot of bandwidth is downloading music or other files to your computer, as well as uploading if your plan has an upload limit to it. I'm not positive on this, but I'm pretty sure that's how ISPs calculate your usage.

 

Damn 10gb, that's really low. I have around 175GB. Anyway back on topic I would say Runescape uses around 50mb of bandwidth per hour. So if you are running 4 bots for one day non stop it will be 4.8GB for just that one day. Assuming you run them without stopping.

EDIT: @ Stevethemagic I live in New Zealand where all our ISP's have crappy plans, like, our 10GB plan combined with our phone usage and stuff like that is around 60 dollars NZ. But we're getting our plan doubled to 20GB for free ^.^

 

I have a 4G cap/day when I'm at university, I run 8 bots for pretty much 24/7 and at the end of the day I'm usually no higher than 500 MB.

However, watching youtube video's/streaming movies/downloading are probably a majority of what contributes to your 10GB Cap

 

I'm using dial-up internet and it's always at about 2kbps, more if I go to diff place, when 'loading- please wait' thing pops up. I used to bot 2 accs on my vps and it only used 0.5gb Bandwith in a month.

 

So if I worked that out right its about 2.6mb per hour? (500/24/8)?

But really, RS only uses around 30bytes/sec...

 

I think if you play hardcore, 1 account might consume 2 GB a month, maybe.

I don't watch my usage anymore since I'm on a 120 GB/month plan, but when I am in hospital I bring prepaid wireless internet and can use a 3 GB recharge for much more than a month I think, and obv if you are in hospital you no life XD

 

You can play Runescape on a 10 kbs speed net just as good as a 20mbs connection. It doesn't use much at all, the killers are media (videos, images, an music), and downloading updates for the bots nearly 2mb each time you do. The actual game uses next to no usage as long as your not botting in crowded areas.

Say if you bot at the ge, pest control, or soul wars, it will use more usage because of all the people talking your probably looking at 5-10mb/24H in them areas at the most though.

 

Open task manager -> Performance -> Resource Mointor button at the bottom -> Network

 

Type Displayfps into the rs console if you want to see your internet usage. Mine is about 60 bytes/s in and 2b/s out, and i'm playing RS hd.
