It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. I do not believe such lies, so I have taken a picture of the side of my wardrobe. You are to write of this image. Because I hold no faith in the community, I won't demand a thousand words from you, just at least a hundred. This writing can be anything: a description, a story, a poem, a rap (although I do not like rap so you are not going to win with one) or anything you can think of. You must write it yourself, and I will do an extensive search on the winning contestant's entry to prevent cheating.

    The prizes

The winner gets to pick either Indie Gala 2 Epic Bundle gift key or The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion® Game of the Year Edition(steam gift). The remaining prize will be raffled between all contestants (winner excluded).

The Indie Gala 2 Epic Bundle gift key is completely unused, and includes steam keys for:

    Critical Mass
    Fortix 2
    Bunch of Heroes
    Hacker Evolution
    Roboblitz
    Greed Corp
    Zombie Shooter
    inMomentum
    Hacker Evolution: Duality
    Your Doodles Are Bugged!
    Zombie Shooter 2
    Hacker Evolution: Untold
A DRM-free download (not a Steam key!) of Postal Classic and Uncut for Mac, Windows and Linux
And Fruit Blitz for Android phones.

    Also, it contains music:
    The Numbers - Beautiful EP
    Casey Lalonde - Skitter EP
    Giraffage - Comfort
    Robot Science - Good Luck
    Acrobatics - Acrobatics
Jack Butler - Fit The Paradigm
    Casey Lalonde - Thank You
    Robot Science - Square
Ulrich Schnauss - The Gala Selection
    Robot Science - Doodads
    Gareth Coker - inMomentum OST

    To enter
    OH NO IT'S OVER

First look at this photo of my wardrobe's side. Then you let your imagination run wild. After you've found your inspiration, write at least a hundred words of the image. When you're done, send the finished product to x339. He will forward everything to me, without telling me who the writer is. Your identity plays no part in this contest.

The last day you can submit entries is Tuesday 22nd. In theory, 23:59 GMT+3 but I won't be so strict on the punctuality. The winner will be decided through sheer arbitrariness; I'll pick one I like the most. Bonus points for originality, and it is good to run your text through a spell checker because my autism boils over every time I see "they're" written as "there". That is all. Now write.

Can you offer an alternate prize? Like a RSGP or a paypal reward for those who don't even know what a key is lol

    36D:
I did explain what the Indie Gala 2 Epic Bundle key is in the post, and it should be even clearer now that x339 has gone through the trouble of making my original post readable for regular humans.

To clarify: Indie Gala is a series of game bundle sales. It's sort of like Humble Indie Bundle, especially with their new site which is a complete rip-off of Humble Bundle's.

My gift key is from the second Indie Gala bundle which was held a few months ago. Some 50,000 keys were available, and I think most of them were sold. There won't be another bundle with the same content, future bundles contain different content. There were three 'tiers' of purchases, with the first one being cheapest and having some 4 games and 3 albums, second one being a little more expensive and having more content. This is the third one, and it contains Steam keys for the 12 games I mentioned in OP, a DRM-free game download, an Android game, and 11 albums. I paid a little over $10 dollars for the bundle, and most of that went to charity. By no means should you think that it is worth only 10 dollars, since the games cost more when buying directly from Steam.

    noamyoungerm:
That's very nice, but a great part of this is the anonymity of the partakers; the writing itself is the only thing that should decide the victor. But I don't really know you anyways, so it's not like I would have you win because of your personality :V

Wouldn't it make more sense to reveal the catch before ending the contest? Seems kind of off putting.
Regardless, I'll be entering the contest, even though I have zero use for a key.

Sent my piece, though I think it is rather a tl;dr

The fact that I said I will participate says what about me except that I would like to have an Indie Gala Bundle? That's all really

Not really interested in the key, but in a couple of days I won't have any assignments left to complete for school, so I'll work on it just for the sake of entering :)

Apparently there's been fairly few entries as of yet. I might have to add some additional incentive. We'll see.

In today's news: A shocking development!

Oblivion is added to the prize pool! The winner gets a choice, and one of the losers will become a winner. Not through his own abilities and skills, but through sheer luck. C'est la vie.

I'll decide the contest's end date soon, if a respectable amount of people enter. (I don't know, like four more or something so I'll get a thousand words in total, you are the worst writers)

A thousand words in total.... God, I am going to have to enter this just so it isn't so lame. Give me a few days to get my finals over with and I will write you a good 2 - 3k words.

"The catch" is now removed, because of practical reasons, none of them having to do with the lack of entrants what are you even talking about now go write something. My next week is kind of full of things to do, so the contest will be ending somewhere around 21st-27th. More news when there's news.

The deadline for the contest is next Tuesday. That is, the 22nd. I'll ask x339 to send me the writings on Wednesday, and I'll read through them and decide the winning text, assign numbers to non-winning entries and use random.org for the raffle. I'll then post the stories and ask x339 to share the authors, whom I'll contact. This should ensure that the contestants' identity doesn't play any part in winning.

Then you shouldn't be in a very gaming-related community.

On a more serious note, I don't really care if you play the game(s) yourself, give them to your little brother, or even sell them. It's not against any rules or regulations to, but it's slightly rude to sell a prize.

It's weekend, and you should totally take part in this if you haven't already. I'll probably regret that I ever did this after Tuesday, but for now I'm looking forward to reading what you managed to whip up.
