How many bots could this comp run?

So I was thinking of getting a few cheap comps but it may be easier to just get one, need a rough idea on how many this could run.

Do I need higher CPU speeds for botting or should it be fine?

...This can easily run 30-40 even on 12GB of RAM, you have more RAM then you need actually, a faster processor could get you running 50+ or so.

See how fast of a processor you can buy, and consider overclocking it, how much is this going to cost, if you don't mind me asking?

Well for the price of that system you could probably get two 2600k systems, and run twice as many.

    Honestly, this ^

I'm assuming you're buying it prebuilt and more than likely paying through the roof. Build your own systems with a 2600k at the center and I guarantee you will get far more performance per dollar. I assume you were going with the 990x.. if so, don't, it's a huge waste of money for something as simple as running bots. 2600k will perform just as well if not better for 30% of the cost of the 990x. Not to mention 1336 is a dead socket.. no room for upgrades in the future. No need for a huge ass HDD like that either or even an SSD if all you're going to be doing is running bots. Having a high end GPU is pointless for botting. 24GB RAM is probably overkill as well, I'd reckon you'd probably max out any consumer grade processor far before reaching 24GB RAM in bots.. You could probably easily get by on like 18GB (6x3GB)

Well, you should build your own. Even with the same specs you'll save money. That computer you have there is no joke though, it will outperform most.

However, I suggest waiting until next year to upgrade you're machine because intel will be releasing cpu's on the LGA2011 socket (hex and octo-core Sandy and Ivy Bridges) that should completely slaughter anything released thus far as well as quad-channel RAM. Not to mention some of the first consumer GFX cards utilizing XDR2 video ram which again, completely obliterates 95% of anything before it.

Just Saiyan, it will be worth the wait.

Make your own... two 8GB RAM PCs would be best.

Yea Im going for prebuild for the mere fact it seems cheaper then when I tried setting one up.

    Thanks, I'm now eyeing up a 2600k or 2.

It was going for around 4.9k but Clashes idea I could just about buy 3 2600k's for the same price.

Do I need a high graphics card for RS?

See, I tried two make your own PC sites for New Zealand and I was getting bills of 2k+ were as I can buy a 16GB 2600k for 1-2k.

There's no difference between a manufacturer like Dell and a "custom" PC maker like iBUYPOWER. You're still paying a premium for them to put everything together.

People telling you to build your own mean buy everything separately and put it together on your own.

Also, the question wasn't aimed at me but I figure I'll answer it anyway... No you don't need a high graphics card for just RS. For botting purposes, the integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 will probably be sufficient to run any amount of bots. Playing at 1080p + max details though... maybe not. I've never exactly seen benchmarks or anything like that for RS so it's hard to say about that, but I would venture that it would probably fair pretty well considering Intel HD Graphics 3000 can run DiRT 3 at 1080p decently.

Well with that line of thought, you're right, you won't be able to. It isn't complicated at all, and there are guides all over the internet about it (I have one in the guide section :D). It's a learning process, just like anything else. Once you know how to do it, you can use that knowledge to save yourself more money when you eventually have to build another computer down the road. You can also help friends and family save money and get a better product. It's just a good experience to have that can help you in more ways than one, so simply saying you can't do it or you don't possess the knowledge isn't a sufficient reason to not do it. If you just genuinely have no interest in learning it, then that's unfortunate, but it's your choice. Best of luck either way.

Agree for me the best choice is making a self made clone, for any suggestions you could visit www.superpowerpc.com which has kinda everything at your disposal for you to choose
