How long does it take to be decent at writing botting scripts?

long do you think it would take someone to start writing decent botting scripts for runescape?

 

Depends on your work ethic and if you're willing to learn/take criticism and do research.
I've been writing scripts for roughly two years now but I can say at least for the first year of that my code was absolute dogshit.

The second year I started being really conscious about my code structure and how it looked which also helped with the quality of my code as well.

 

So many variables... but have you programmed before?

 

Took me like 6 months to be able to make decent scripts. No prior programming experience. Rspeer is the best client to start with imo. The api is extremely easy to understand and work with.

 

I have been doing AHK for probably a year and a half now with no schooling. All mine is self taught and honestly I can write a script for just about anything I want to do in OSRS

 

I learned with python. Started with a basic auto clicker, then learned and added more complex randomization.

 

I was strictly a backend web developer for years (PHP) but grasped AHK/Java fairly quickly recently out of boredom, and can write just about anything.
I don't think it will take you very long to learn with all of the available resources online now. Get a solid understanding of programming first before attempting to make anything or you will be lost lol.. Learn about functions, conditional statements, arrays, variables, etc etc.
