how long does a food poisioning last for?

so my stupid mom bought a deli sandwich from subway about 12:00pm or lunch time and came back home with leftovers. i ate it because i assumed she bought it the time of arrival but i found out after i ate it and experience diharrea which means i just had food poisoning because of that dumb deli sandwich. what got me sick was the mayonnaise which has been left in room temperature for 12pm to 5;30pm.

because of this, i have to follow a brat diet until my stool becomes "normal again" -___-
i want to know how many days will i be experiencing this?

 

I've had food poisioning for 2 weeks before.. Its awful. Try to get it out of your system as soon as possible and I'd suggest a hi sodium/liquids diet.

 

Brat diet works well.

Apple Sauces

Toated bread

 

Honestly if you can make yourself puke out as much of the crap you ate you'd be much better off. Mayonnaise is eggs therefor you ate rotten eggs, it's not just the food poison you have to worry about, you could come up with something awhole lot worse (hopefully not but it's possible)

 

I've had it twice in my life.

First time it lasted for like 5 days
second time 2 days

 

Depends on how bad the food you ate was, I have gotten food poisoning from old pizza and it lasted a day, and my buddy has gotten it from a local convenience store's food and its lasted weeks.

 

If it goes any longer than a week I'd recommend seeing a doctor. That's what my mum did after she had some bad Chinese food.

 

Shouldn't last longer than a week if it's from a few hours old mayonnaise.

I've never had food poisoning and I ate much worse things.

 

I remember I had some bad water a few months back, probably a year back now. Was on the toilet ALL DAY, although it only lasted a day. It really depends on your body and what you consumed and how much you consumed to be honest.

 

I forgot to mention, when I had food poisoning for about 2 weeks, I didn't realize at the time I was allergic to what I ate. It was Chinese food so it was a mixture of allergies and food poisoning. But yeah hopefully it doesn't last long

 

Well personally, I seldom suffer from food poisoning. Even if I do, it lasts a week at most. Just maintain proper hygiene and always check before you eat something. Don't just eat it just because it's there.
By the way, you shouldn't call your mum stupid. It's really bad as she is the one that takes care of you and if not for her, you wouldn't be here right now

 

Food poisoning sucks, it can last a day or so or as much as week from what I've seen.

Food poisoning last 1-2 days, anyone claiming they had it for multiple days / weeks didn't have food poisoning they had an infection gotten from a toxin within the food i.e e-coli.

 

Are you sure it was the mayo? As bad as this may sound I often leave my junior chickens out for up to 24 hours and eat them. Nothing has happened to me.
