How Have Video Games Impacted Your Life?

Video games have been good/bad for me in my lifetime. In my younger years (12-16) (Now 18) my life was consumed by them.. my friends dwindled, I became super shy, awkward, had very low self esteem and fat. This was throughout middle school and high school. Missed out on many opportunities (girls, parties, family events just to play games(rs)), didn't have many friends and the ones i did have were the same as me. Late high school, started working out built lots of confidence, started talking to girls, made new friends.. I grew out of my childish ways..

Now i'm in college living the life, I've learned from my mistakes and I am having the time of my life... parties, new friends,GIRLS, I look back and see it as a lesson learned and i'm happy where i'm at.

How Have Video Games Impacted Your Life?

Video games have honestly impacted my life a lot. When I used to be younger (8-11) I used to be almost addicted to them, now I see things that are a lot more important (School,Girls,Friends) and I hardly ever play video games now.

    2.

Runescape made me not have a pc gaming sort of addiction thing..

And Dragon Warrior 3 was the most beautiful game ever created, bar none.

How Have Video Games Impacted Your Life?

Video games have inexplicably been fucking me up ever since the end of 2009 (when I had my own computer). I rarely go out anymore, I failed the majority of school, first year of College and I'll fail this year too if I don't step up my game. My attitude has changed, I'm a way different person than I was before, I'm quieter, more shy and less experienced in talking to people. I just prefer being on my own all the time.

Video games should honestly be destroyed/banned worldwide, they are a waste of money and a waste of time, and they're made to mess people up in the head.

Unfortunately this happens to a lot of us here, I saw a study that showed kids/teens who spent hours playing video games each day didn't develop socially.

How Have Video Games Impacted Your Life?

Honestly I haven't lost alot due to videogames even tho I've spent an astounding amount of time online in the past. There simply wasn't anthing to do that I would have normally done. Now with a new framework I've had to let off my hobbies and I've found it alot easier to go a week or two without gaming than I would have thought it should be considering the sheer quantity of time I've spent online.
I could easily say that every weekend I spent 30 hours online.

How Have Video Games Impacted Your Life?

    I strongly disagree.

Videos games are just like everything else, should be enjoyed in MODERATION, and if you get addicted and excessively abuse it, expect negative results, its not the companies fault, its yours.

Cake's only purpose is to fatten you up, should that be banned globally? No, because majority of people eat it in moderation therefore its fine.

Video games have been nothing but a positive impact on my life, teaching me to touch-type, vastly increase my typing speed, learn basic economics, a degree of discipline having to work your ass off to get what you want (grinding etc), which has applied to my life in general making me very dedicated. Taught me a fair bit of business skills and strategy as well and gave me the right mindset.

How Have Video Games Impacted Your Life?

I love playing video games, but it hasn't effect my life in a way that it keeps me from enjoying other things. I love playing music and I have fairly successfully taught myself to play guitar over the last 6 months or so. I have friends and I am very out-going. People who complain about video games are just people who don't know how to deal with things in moderation.

How Have Video Games Impacted Your Life?

Games haven't affected my life much at all. Sure when I get a new game, I play it a good bit, but I also get sick of them fast and usually end up selling it. I've never been addicted to the point I can't do the things I need to do. I will always choose going out over playing a game. They're more enjoyable when you play them in moderation anyways. Blaming games for people's problems is just stupid. It's not a drug and there are no physical withdrawals. Not playing so much is not hard to do and just takes a little bit of self control and discipline.

How Have Video Games Impacted Your Life?

I still love video games. They impacted my life by being so beautiful. I play Runescape, Skyrim, All of the Pokemon games, All of the Final Fantasy games, Resident Evil games, Silent Hill games, Metal Gear games, just a whole bunch of fucking games. If I'm addicted, then come be addicted with me, because these video games are pretty damn good.
