But the point is, freshman is not used... When you're at school, you don't say freshMAN, it just sounds gay and wierd.

In any case, neither is generally singular. I think he's wrong about that one.

How goodly can you speak english?

    Untrue.

If you said "I'm a freshmen."

then you'd be saying that you were multiple people.

the word: Freshman is singular; therefore, saying "I'm a freshman" means that you are one specific type of person.

How goodly can you speak english?

You can't say "freshmen forwards" because Freshman is not plural in this case.

Since freshman is modifying "forwards" It cannot be in its plural form (Freshmen Forwards)

    Answer this question, is it:

    A) Senior forwards?
    B) Seniors Forwards?

Edit: I am not from the US, but you're implying is that everyone who is not from the US can't speak proper english, what if I was from England?. Despite your ignorance, you did pretty well on the quiz. ( your second attempt scored the same :/)

Oh, and I study in massachusetts if that means anything.

How goodly can you speak english?

    1. (Are/ Is) neither of the freshman forwards dressed out today?
Is. (neither followed by a prepositional phrase is singular; however, plural is acceptable in modern vernacular)

    2. Every dollar, mark and yen (were/was) affected by yesterday’s news from the Middle East.
Was. (Every always singular, ignore what it defines)

    3. German measles (are/is) different from and milder than the measles that john has now.
Is. (either are suitable in formal modern English)

    4. However, neither the portly president nor the beautiful teller (are/is) willing to account for his or her time the night the local bank was robbed.
    Is. (beautiful teller is singular)

    5. The media (seem/seems) to know exactly what will capture our interest and what won’t.
Seem. (seems works in modern English as well, when talking about the media's collective opinion)

    6. Arranged in the pine cupboard (were/was) a set of dishes belonging to my grandmother.
    Was. (set is singular)

    7. The wreck on the expressway created a nightmarish traffic jamNEEDS SEMICOLON HERE
nevertheless, drivers waited patientlyNEEDS PERIOD HERE (correct/incorrect? If incorrect, explain why.]

    8. Lovers' kiss. (Correct/incorrect? If incorrect, explain why)
Incorrect. Does not have a subject or verb, therefore it is not a sentence, therefore it shouldn't have a period. The clause "Lovers' kiss" is grammatically correct, however.

    9. (Who/Whom) do you think we saw last night?
    Whom (object)

    10. (Who/Whom) were you talking to?
    Whom (object of prep)

EDIT @ OP: I'm not sure what you're using as an answer key, but it doesn't seem to be correct. Malakdang has three errors and you have him a 9/10 >.>

    Coma should be after jam.

Lovers' kiss. (Correct/incorrect? If incorrect, explain why)

I believe the apostrophe should be before the letter s.

(Who/Whom) do you think we saw last night?

    (Who/Whom) were you talking to?

How goodly can you speak english?

I see you changed my score by adding 1, and dropped the other's score by 1, so you know that I was right about number 1 :)

I got the lovers' kiss wrong :(. I just realized after reading rsaccountrader's response that it isn't a full sentence, fml. I was just thinking of it as a clause, in which case it would be correct.

Speaking of rsaccountrader, you got the German measles question wrong. It's "are" and not "is" because the subject is the MEASLES. German is the modifier of measles, so it's plural, hence it's are.

btw, i want my name above rsaccountrader. I was the first one to get 9/10 :)

How goodly can you speak english?

umm, i don't like the question about the german measles, that was a HORRIBLE trick question. The only possible way to get that correct is if you actually knew what measles "is". I thought measles was the plural of measle, but I was wrong badly :(
