How fast is leveling in RS3 now?

I haven't played in years thinking about coming back and heart the game is significantly faste and easier to level? Is this true? Just wondering how long melee stats take from 1-99?

 

Very fast. Alot of methods are even really good AFK methods.

Between that, and the fact you can pretty much buy your way to 99's using Treasure Hunter, to answer your question and to put it into comparison from playing back in 2007 to now, yeah... It's faster.

 

How do you buy your way into it with treasure hunter? Isn't treasure hunter all random?

 

More fixed than random lol.

I mean you can practically buy your XP from Treasure Hunter. Yes, you might get worthless stuff most of the time, you'll always get bonus XP 40% of the time (atleast that always happens to me) and from that you will have xp that you got for your IRL cash.

When you think of things like this, and you're a veteran that has been playing since the golden ages, then you'll understand that RuneScape nowadays is alot easier to get levels up than back in the day.

Obviously updates/new bosses/quests also make a difference, but it honestly doesn't feel like that awesome grind you used to get when levelling back in the days.

Obviously this is my opinion on this particular subject.

P.S I brought 43M Firemaking XP for my grind to 120 Firemaking not to long ago, so I know what it feels like when it comes to thinking JaGeX are basically selling XP for IRL cash. (Was a mistake, won't do it again)

 

It's definitely easier, but it's still grindy in my opinion. Which makes maxing out still worth it. It's never something I've been particularly interested in, so I don't know how truly easy it is, (my total is still only like 2100 if even).

It's definitely easier. It's still a good challenge to max out though, in my opinion at least.

 

Still grindy?

Look at Runecrafting for instance. I spent so long getting 99 back in the day for JaGeX to release Runespan. I mean, still grindy? Runecrafting used to be up there with some of the most challenging skills to master.

Agility is still a little grindy but even then, so many have gotten 99 and beyond off stupid updates etc.

I mean, yes the game will always keep that 'grind' feel of maxing out your skills and trying to 'complete' the game. But it isn't like the old days, when you could actually say to your friends "hey, I got finally got 99 Agility".

I can still understand your point though. You can also throw in that peoples playstyles can also differ between how someone views RuneScape's skilling nowadays aswell.

 

Trust me, I realize how much less of a grind it is in general. I got 99 Runecrafting yet again in Old School Runescape just to re-live the grind of how I got it the first time (in 2008ish).

Just because the game now is less of a grind, much less so in some facets, it's still a grind. Getting a maxed out total would still take quite a while, even with the know-how and GP to expedite things.

And even then, you're making one assumption - that everyone is going to have the know-how and GP means to do what we can do. While there is not as much gratification as levels any more in general or compared to Old School Runescape, it's still nice to have high levels to participate in the end game content in Runescape (which has increased a fair bit over the years).

No it's not a masochist level grind like it was in Pre-Eoc days. However maxing every stat collectively still takes a fair bit of time. Amassing a large bank legitimately and without RWT takes even longer yet.

I still miss the grindness off the old school days, hence why I play OSRS.

 

Yeah lol, trust me brotha..I'm the same. I'm on OSRS 90 percent of the time. Runescape 3 10 percent of the time.

I definitely don't disagree it is way less grindy, just think to a degree it's still grindy. Even with BXP Agility and Hunter is annoying as hell.

Though if I could choose where to grind those skills, it'd be Old School - you still have there what you described - people being impressed by levels again.

But what is now Runescape 3 has been out for what, 12 years now ? Not sure when it went to Runescape exactly 2 but obviously stats stayed the same 2-3. Point being in that time it's just inevitable leveling will become easier. The rate at which Jagex made that possible was probably too fast, but it's too late now.

 

I'd say its really fast with all kind of bonus xp you can get daily from treasure hunter, minigames etc.

Not much of a challenge compared to 07 xp gains which are way slower.

99s are still going to take a while but are nothing to the grind of few years back.

 

There are over 40,000 maxed total level players on RS3. There is very little competitive aspect to the game since everyone is maxed and PvP is nonexistent, grinding is basically all there is + daily resetting opportunities for huge amounts of exp.

 

Lets say you can make your piece of cake and enjoy it also

 

It's a lot faster than 07 that's for sure. If you have $$ it's even faster. As mentioned above, there is a lot afkable ways to train now

 

the more money, the faster exp, probably x2 faster then 07. or close.
