Typically, on a good day I can tolerate most players I'm with platinum elo up to diamond, but what really drives me bonkers are those players that never listen and we have to follow them around and make the stupid decisions he does. Other times you have players that refuse to group with your team and practically afk pushes a lane making minor contribution to the team, even when you chat with them, they remain profusely stubborn. Reports mean nothing on League I know, but it feels like this on every game. I don't have high expectations of players and winning isn't everything, but how can I get people to listen? Is this something that's inevitable for you guys or is this just another cry thread:idea:

I always mute everyone. Never go into a game with the expectation that your team will help you. It's just the nature of competitive gaming, some people are weak as fuck psychologically and will spaz out over the tiniest thing. The only way to get people to listen, is for you to do really well. This will likely give them the confidence to follow your lead

Whenever I'm trying to climb and care if I win or lose I always turn off all chat. Other than that I just kind of understand that sometimes you're going to lose, all I can do is be a positive force for the team and eventually I'll win more than I lose.

I keep chat on but the instant I detect someone might even be just a little bit negative that could potentially put me on tilt, /mute.

You're not alone, this is the typical mindset of most LoL players to blame their teammates for their inability to rise: 'Bot feed', 'Jungle doesn't gank,' 'Top AFK split,' 'Support damage no wards,' 'I get all the AFK's', etc.
Meanwhile, that 'AFK splitting top player' is saying '2 people top, noob team why you not force fight, baron, dragon, tower, nexus,' the support is saying 'team noob; I'm doing most damage with least gold,' jungle is saying 'fucking noob team pushing with no wards and feeding jungle,' etc, etc, etc.

Just gets old, all the excuses and raging. It doesn't get any better at any elo, and it is very accurate to say that if you're in a division, regardless of the role you play, you belong there.

P.S.: Saying you have to follow around and make the same stupid decisions someone else does is just laughable. If I see a bad fight (you'll know instantly), I immediately bail. 1 player gets caught right before teamfight? Bail. Enemy team has an amazing engage? Bail. Enemy Trynd pushing open Nexus but you almost have baron? Bail. Otherwise, all I can say is to capitalize on every move you can (hence, I agree more with the 'afk splitting top' who says '2 top do something' more-so than you who says 'team holding me back.')

Now I wish this never had to be the case, but I really think in this state of the game's developing behavior, this is the best way to go. People aren't gonna listen like you said unless you're super ahead and establish yourself as the leader. Then again you have envious sonsofbitches that don't know when to sit the fuck down and get themselves carried

Always turn off all-chat, Why the fuck do you need to speak to the enemy team. I wouldn't even tell them gg either. Those people could care less, they treat the game like a narcisstic drug. Good point, but being positive is a dying breed in competitive gaming.

This is really ideal, but sometimes it might be too late, because what the person said could rebound at you and cause you to tilt regardless. It's just better to have a /all mute option. 5 strangers are variables, but lean towards being shitheads in various elos. You want the 100% guarantee not the 55% win rate

Yeah player behavior in league of legends is a bad meme. It was like when runescape came out, calling people noob was a hot thing and just repetitively complain about the same thing. There is no reason to be friends or listen to anybody you match up with in competitive gaming. It's whoever knows how to get kills and take objectives is the true pack leader. Otherwise I could give a crap less about complaints.

After spending years in a busy clan on RS with people constantly bugging me about their rank I kinda built up a resistance to it. If someone is being toxic I don't really care at all. Since it doesn't put me on tilt, better to be able to see useful things amongst the spam than nothing at all.

At the end of the day, if someone is being toxic there's probably a reason why. If they're flaming in all chat because the enemy jungler is always in their lane, it's usually safe to assume their jungler will keep pressuring them because they're on tilt, so you're free to deep ward and hard push bot for a turret etc. I guess I just like to make the most out of a bad situation.

I see the wisdom in doing that, because you can predict the jungler's movements. I recently won a game because all the jungler did was go top while I backdoored 2 inhibs. It's like he forgot to put out the fire on his camp.
Building up resistance takes a lot of time, because you have to sort through the reasons and you also can't be super sensitive either, but here lies the problem. There is a lot of narcissism in league and people get hurt when they play badly. I'm pretty narcisstic myself, but man it just sucks because then the only way to focus is treat everyone else like they aren't human, but bots. I fucking hate myself a little for that
