I thought that was with animals? Like you euthanize your dog or cat etc?

It's only Euthanasia when it's performed by a licensed doctor in a country/state/etc that allows it - otherwise it's murder, not suicide (the degree of murder it is depends on other variables).

Even if, say, you wanted to end your life with pills and asked a friend to be with you when you do it and maybe even be sure you do in-fact pass away, while it would technically be suicide they could still charge the friend with a homicide because they didn't report it (U.S law).

It's called the same thing for humans, however it doesn't happen when a person is in a coma. When a person is in a coma, usually they're pronounced medically dead/brain dead with no chance of waking up. In such cases, a legal proxy and/or the next of kin (I think) to the patient can decide to "pull the plug" as people are so fond of calling it and take them off life support and either let them die or donate their organs. This isn't considered Euthanasia though. Euthanasia is when someone has an advanced terminal illness with no hope of recovery such as MS or cancer and probably other things and the patient requests the doctor end their life. After some probably complicated paper work, they'll go through the steps and the patient will pass away as painlessly as possible. This isn't legal in most places though.

Im talking about the person asking to be killed. Would he still go to hell as if he committed suicide or would that sin be pardoned since somebody else was the one to kill them?

Oh. Well, I think there are just too many if, and's, but's, conditions, variables and situations to really give comprehensive yes/no answer to that question.

You might have better luck asking this in this section - http://www.sythe.org/something-all/

By what religion's standards? If you follow the Bible, there is no scripture that mentions anyone being damned going to hell for suicide specifically.

Any for that matter. Most say suicide is a sin that gets you sent to hell but doesnt specify anything as far as euthanasia goes.

Hell* I assume you meant, however, everyone has sinned at some point in their life, adding suicide to the list won't make a difference.

If you want my personal opinion on the subject, as someones thats had a close relative commit suicide I don't think the concern of 'Hell' or some other doomed afterlife prospect is much of an issue, if someone is willing to take their own life to be at peace with themselves.

Also, Euthanasia from my point of view should be acceptable for the critically ill, who live day to day in agony with no hope of any improvement. Nobody should have to live like that, and everyone should have the right to choose what is right for them.

In terms of religion, you'd have to read said bible / scripture etc. to find out where it mentions suicide. I personally don't believe in any religion.

It's called Euthanasia and it's still illegal in most countries. I know it's legal in Switzerland.

Imagine your dad or someone has a serious illness and is in too much pain for him to bare, then I believe it is the right thing to do. In a way it's crueler to watch people suffer from their illnesses. If someone's marriage has just ended and want the same thing though I'd simply tell them to 'fuck off'. You can get over things such as marriages.

It's called assisted suicide. Euthanasia is if they're in pain.

Yeah, emotional pain... or is this not classed as pain? I don't know why you're correcting people with an invalid answer to the OP, get outta here :noworry:.

Emotional pain may be considered pain (obviously), but for it to be considered euthanasia it has to be physical pain. Also, my answer was valid. It's assisted suicide. If he simply Googles that term he will find the answer he's looking for.

    Back off newbie.
