    Take the test yourself: http://www.politicalcompass.org/test

And post your results (with picture preferably).

    Me:

    Economic Left/Right: -7.25
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.62

Is the test a valid indicator of a political standpoint? Is my political position insane? Discuss freely!

What major party are you going to vote for Ballin? Dems or Republicans? It'll be interesting if it isn't Democrats :p

    I would vote for Obama.

    Here are some basis reasons:

    1) I just don't want McCain
    2) Most of Obamas plans are things I would like.
    3) Sara Paylin... how the fuck can she be with abortion, never unstood that.... so thats -1 for McCain on my part...

I'll update this later, just some fundamentals.

    Wow Malachia.

I started to read some of the questions on the test and the seem to be slanted politically. I don't believe it's an accurate representation of my political stance. To be honest I change my mind a lot anyway.

Half of the shit I could not care less about / could not give a real answer since my answer could lean both ways depending on the situation.

    But here:

"Some of the questions are slanted

Most of them are slanted ! Some right-wingers accuse us of a leftward slant. Some left-wingers accuse us of a rightward slant. But it's important to realise that this isn't a survey, and these aren't questions. They're propositions - an altogether different proposition. To question the logic of individual ones that irritate you is to miss the point. Some propositions are extreme, and some are more moderate. That's how we can show you whether you lean towards extremism or moderation on the Compass.

Some of the propositions are intentionally vague. Their purpose is to trigger buzzwords in the mind of the user, measuring feelings and prejudices rather than detailed opinions on policy.

Incidentally, our test is not another internet personality classification tool. The essence of our site is the model for political analysis. The test is simply a demonstration of it.

    Your political compass
    Economic Left/Right: -3.12
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.28

    Libertarian:

Libertarians strongly oppose any government interfering in their personal, family and business decisions. Essentially, we believe all Americans should be free to live their lives and pursue their interests as they see fit as long as they do no harm to another.

In a nutshell, we are advocates for a smaller government, lower taxes and more freedom.

Taking hard-earned resources from one individual or corporation to give to another is considered government interference. Banning the safe use/possession of weapons is considered government interference.

Many individuals on this forum claim to be Libertarians, but support these government intrusions. I would like to hear their definitions of a Libertarian and thoughts from others.

I do agree about the anti Libertarian side, but I don't want to be called left or right. IMO following one strict ideology never works.

This is basically the same thing as the political seesaw, if I'm not mistaken. I don't have time to take the test now because I'm going out, but I will post later or tomorrow letting everyone know my results.
