    good idea or bad??

Right now i have a decent pc. But i want a backup one just incase something goes wrong + i want my own to mess w/.. sooo i found one that crashed because of a virus for $10. It is about 4 years old (dell) comes with monitor, keyboard, and tower. Thats all the info i could get so if i was to buy it and just reformated the hard drive would the virus be gone and is this a good deal?

Yeah, it's a good deal, so as long as you don't continue to use the computer while it's infected...

See if you can sell the hardware for money and buy a better computer... Dunno if that'll work out well.

    For 10 bucs, of course!

Just make sure the virus is completely gone before doing anything, otherwise you risk a lot of things.

Yes, This is a good deal, And after you re format the Hard Drive, you might want to run the Systems CD Recovery Disks, This will completely wipe any left over files which could be containing the Virus. Last thing you want is to be playing sythe / runescape or logging into ANYTHING with a virus on your computer.

Definitely! $10 is definitely worth it. And if it doesn't work out, sell it for $15 to someone who thinks they, also, can fix it

Yes, even if this computer is trashed, the fact that its $10 makes it a worthwhile gamble. Go for it, just don't be surprised if it was hit by lightning or something.
