What are the specs of your computer? If your computer isn't high end, it will not be able to handle the games, no matter how expensive your video card is.

If your computer is powerful enough, just shop for a card at newegg.com
The navigation is extremely easy and self explanatory.

Well you could snag a 560 ti or 6950 for about $230 and $240, respectively. Both very good cards

6870 for about $220 (there are slightly cheaper ones, but in my opinion, this is one of the top brands)

I know they're slightly over your budget, but there are cheaper versions of these cards. These will give you the best price : performance ratio. Now if you wanna look at SLI or Crossfire, it's a whole different story (though I wouldn't recommend it at such a low budget).

I don't care if you put a gold chain on a cow, it's still a cow.

Don't be an idiot. He wanted a new GPU, he gave a budget, and I gave what I thought would be the best option, regardless of the rest of his pc.

Had he been asking how to upgrade the rest of his pc, I would have given my suggestions on that.

I don't recommend that card. Check some benchmarks out. It's much lower than anything else in it's price range.

EDIT: actually, I took a closer look at that card and laughed. It only has 256 MB of DDR ram. I don't even need to say any more than that. It sucks. I found it on a different site for $99 and a different one after that for $49. That won't play anything.

If you want something good for $190, I'd go with either of these. They'll whoop the fuck out of a 9600. The 6870 is slightly better than the 560 though. (and don't forget to notice the 560 is not the same as the 560ti I recommended above.)

Erm... no. That's a laptop graphics card (mobility = the dumbed down laptop versions).

For 200$ you can get a 6870 which is a beast of a card for its price and will play everything (at 1080p single monitor) at high-ultra settings. Overclocks well too. Get a good one like a twin frozr II or III.
