How do I become a better Pker?

My Pure has pretty decent stats, yet he gets destroyed G Maulers

My Pure has ,
60 Attack
75 Strength
1 Defense
43 Prayer
87 Range
83 Magic
and 74 Constitution

Any tips you guys might want to share to give me more of an edge? No Pun intended,

 

Just practice. I felt like this on my account and it had very similar stats. You soon get the hang of when to eat, when to spec and feel more comfortable pking and switching. Give it a few days and you'll be doing fine. If you want, get a friend and vs him in the duel arena with no rules set and see how you do with spec timing and eating.

Also, you are getting destroyed by gmaulers because they have 10+ more str levels then you and the gmaul switch/combo is easy and actually really good..

People like myself who have a gmauler and use the dbow/gmaul spec combo do pretty well...you basically get hit with a super powerful dclaw spec (4 hits almost at once)

Also, when I don't have time or don't feel the need for a dbow/gmaul combo then I could just use a normal maul to gmaul combo..

ATM I only have 50 att/70 str..but I still destroy..i get about 4 kills for every one death...That is also with a shitty pc and an internet connection so slow it can't even load rs sometimes or takes about half an hour to load...

This is how I PK on my gmauler (might help you understand why you die)

my invent is basically this, 2 prayer flasks, 1 super str, 1 super att, 1 ranging pot, 1 dbow, 1 p neck, 1 ring of recoil, 1 gmaul, rest of invent is sharks.

My gear is a wildy hood, berserker necklace, regen, dhide, iron platebody, obby cape, 10-14 darrows, ring of recoil, obby maul, climbers...

basically, if i don't get a kill with my spec, I can still easily ko with the obby maul + bneck combo as it hits pretty high (350ish)...

How i normally fight, i will obviously start the fight with potting up...turn on my quick prayers, then when I get the person down to a low health (health low enough to get them to start eating basically) I will switch to my dbow (i never let them see gmaul until I spec with it, I let them think that the dbow is my spec weapon) then if I hit a 150exp+ (it's decent at my level, which is 61cb) hit on the dbow I will switch to gmaul and double spec them as the arrow land...if that doesn't kill them, I will switch to my obby maul and basically just bash them...Use pneck with the other person is specing, when I need some more time to do other things like pot or drink p pot, etc..


The best things IMO to do on your side and not the hardware side of PKing is to practice your combo A LOT..duel arena, even high hp NPCs, etc...

 

Yea, I know, I try to risk too, but when I deep, that's when they g maul spec me out or I get PJed.

 

Maybe camp a p neck while you're waiting for a fight?

Nothing you can really do about pj'ers...they are everywhere and will always be there...

idk what they get out of it..but it must be something...If you're dying to pj'ers..I don't think that reflects on your skill...they could hit you at the right time or get a really good hit, etc...

 

Yea I know man, another thing is I lag a little, so that screws me up. 60% of the times I die is cause I lag and don't see a switch or the time it takes me to eat is off a bit

 

You could practice your switching, etc. in either Clan Wars white portal or Duel Arena (Clan Wars would be simpler and more realistic, I think).

Other than that, the best way to get better is trial-and-error. You won't react the same until the real situation comes, and as time passes it will get easier to get through tricky situations.

 

I really like the idea of being low attack (50) with high strength and range and comboing the shit out of people, although you get shitty specs too often and then 100% spec bar is gone..I think I'll still make my starter obby mauler (only 60str) to a range g mauler soon though

 

practice will help you a lot man... and definitely watch a lot of videos. it can cost a lot when you arent good. but Once you're good at timing and such you can own noobs and risk high then make da bank
