The game isn't really fun during the leveling phase unless you're doing it with friends or a good guild. When you hit max level and start pvping/raiding is where the game is actually fun. The game is very time consuming and leveling gets old after awhile.

If you don't enjoy it from the start, then the levelling process will be a long, and bitter task for you. Personally, I love it, however at the moment I lack the needed time to play! :(

Leveling is very easy in the game, and if you're dedicated you can get to 85 in under a month.

PvP in WoW is amazing compared to the games you listed you played, you'll enjoy it a lot.

    Is WoW worth it?

i left RS about 6 years ago to play WoW....My first character, i LOVED questing...the whole "new world" aspect was awesome. Exploring was great. Learning how to play was a blast. Now after my 6th lvl 85...i cant stand questing. Luckily once you gain BoAs...you can level in Battlegrounds (pvp) or by doing dungeons using the dungeon finder. (You can level in BGs without BoAs...but prepare to get raped :])

BoAs = Items with stats that grow when you level..you can keep them on from lvl 1-80 and remain very competitive with the gear you get from quests/dungeons

If you enjoy the questing aspect..once you hit 85 your in for a whole new world. End game aspect is where Blizzard excels. Raiding/PVP/Rated PVP/Achievements/Mount Collecting/Pet Collecting.

    Is WoW worth it?

I tried the trial and I hated it at first :/ Eventually I played on my friends account and make a high lvl 55 dk since there's more content at a higher level... let's just say I got addicted reaaaally fast so I had to buy my own account. I've just started on my 3rd month a few days ago. It's definitely worth it if you can afford it. When you think about it, $15 isn't that much per month but if you have to pay for many monthy things it adds up. I don't play runescape that more because of wow. I use to HATE quests in runescape, but i LOVE them in wow. I use to hate pvp in runecsape and had dungeoneering but I love dungeons and pvp in wow. I love everything about the game so give it a shot. I recommend playing on a medium sized server like Arygos when you first start. That's the one I play on and everything has worked out perfectly :)

    Is WoW worth it?

I am getting sick of runescape and looking for another MMO to play, maybe WOW is the solution to this problem, also trying to determine if WOW is worth the amount of time and money that I would be putting into a new MMO

The pvp in WoW is really fun. And to level you need to grind and quest, but they made it so much easier now then it was before. You could probably get to max level in 10 days so suck it up until then :p Or you could just pvp at a lower level bracket.

WoW doesn't take NEAR the amount of time Runescape takes. You can catch up with the old dogs in no time. I just started playing WoW 3 weeks ago and I love it. I'm so bored of Runescape though it kills me.

Yes it is worth it. And quests in WoW are actually quite fun, and if you really don't want to quest you can always just spam dungeons till 85.

Wow is a pretty awesome game huge world fun PVP and Active players depending on what sever your on.

Its great if your looking for an adventure without having to put many hours into rasing a skill before you can do anything like Runescape and visually its good as well.

But if you want a sense of accompilishment and meet lots of cool people and have some good times every now and then. Runescape is the way to go. Only probably with wow actually is the paying monthly thing

Well, I know from person experience you can go from 15-85 from nothing but dungeons as I did it on my priest, the issue being I was a healer and DPS are stuck with long queues. It's also possible to get to 85 from level 10 or 15 I don't remember from purely PvP as it gives a decent chunk of XP if you win.

It's too much money to be caught up with the rest. If you don't have the latest expansions, then you're behind in PvP and it ruins endgame content. To get caught up, you've got to be prepared to spend well over 150 dollars, plus 15 a month for the subscription

The game has really nice ways to level to endgame content and into a place you want to be for PvP. You can forego questing altogether once you reach level 15 or something, and just go in dungeons consistently. Questing gives you a lot of gold earlier in the game, however.. but dungeoning gives you chances at finding blue items, sometimes even purple items (blue is rare, purple is very rare)

I'd say if you have money, go for it. Otherwise, no. Too expensive

It is fun when you progress to higher levels of the game, and I wouldn't say it isn't fun at the lower levels if it is your first time playing.
It can get quite expensive paying for gametime, in Australia it costs me
$42 AUD for 2 months which is outrageous.
