How did you get started as a buyer/seller?

My dream has always been to be a buyer/seller of Runescape-related services. I always assumed you'd need a lot of money up front, and even then, there's no guarantee of success...That being said, is it stressful to know that you must compete with other buyers/sellers while also making a profit? Also, how did you get started selling/buying on Sythe?

 

now a days you almost need your own way of selling or searching out customers. Its not as easy as it used to be that's for sure. A lot of people buy from the same sellers so its hard to tear away loyal customers unless your offering something no one else is (aka price, service , and other motivating factors) but I'm sure if you work at building some reputation that success wouldn't be too far behind.

 

It's important to be consistent and be competitive with pricing. It's definitely harder to get new, loyal customers these days, but with the right amount of dedication and input, you'll be able to turn a profit for sure.

I used to have friends in school who played runescape but didn't have much gold. I was a gambling host back then so I'd always sell to them (for the tax honestly) and I was a rich little boy.

So it's going to come to no surprise that I comment this lol, but I do hope this is more interesting for you than me typing it out @finishmykcboss

So I went to private schooling as a kid, and part of that was the travel distance (it was further up north of our country) so I would tend to only come back for a day and half / 2 days every 2 weeks and back then gaming was BIG like we're talking PS1-2 and all. Long story short before I get bored as much as you will reading I found a internet café and I would spend a lot of time there looking at games and such as it was very popular and at that sort of time I also found Runescape lol XD

We are talking maybe 2002-2003 at this sort of time and things like Runescape, warcraft 3, Counter-Strike 1.6 etc were all the range and all of us as kids loved playing them and lanning the games, even now I can remember spending HOURS and HOURS like 5-6 hours straight on de-dust/de-dust 2 and aztek etc on cs-1.6 and we would sit there with our spare money (usually only a few pounds) to buy drinks/chocolate/instant noodles etc and that was us set for the whole day lol

Well let's get back on track, after some time I noticed these kids would sit there bragging about how much gold they have and so on. You need to remember, this was the time when no one really ran around in dragon/barrows as they were cool to see dragon med helms being 1-1.2M and such and whips you could get a full dragon set in exchange for lol. The good old look of dragon chain/dragon legs/dragon square/black cav/legends cape was a majorly big flex. These same people started selling gold to random kids who came in, and i'm not talking the 30 cents a mill we get now, I am talking £2-5 per million whilst these same kids were flexing on how many partyhats they had and so on (you could get them for 60-70M at the time back then) and would sit there once they sold these kids gold flexing at how much they "scammed" off other players in the game to sell to these kids, there was me however enjoying myself fishing my lobsters at catherby minding my own business lol

After a few weeks past almost a month in fact, these same kids would ask me to level their accounts. They wanted to PK and everything else, and I was at the time learning how to merchant things such as unidentified herbs (yes we had unids back then XD) with the profits I made off fishing and such and they would ask me to as I say train their accounts. This led to one thing to another to another, then in around 2008-2009 we found bots were the big thing and this was when RSBot was around, and a few of us also went onto that of which turned into Powerbot which I soon joined into 2012

After around a year of doing business on the website, I found the "random" section which is where we basically just ripped the living shit out of each other sort of like how spam works on here, just instead you got it x50 worse lol. At times you would see people talking about "Sythe" and I was like ??? What's sythe? Same with happened at the time with OSBot. I did research and found these two websites pretty much around the same time, like many I was concerned about signing up to them but gradually over time and looking around as a guest I did, and for me at least expanding in 2013-2014 was a giant thing for me. I was one of those people who played RIFT and would do RIFT sales and such as well, and the same with other games and I found that while there was obvious websites for "runescape" there became less and less for other games such as RIFT/WoW etc and led me to play more around with Sythe

Make sure to have a good solid partner and team and deliver quality services/support, Also deliver on a niche that isnt really offered as much that has some sort of demand (can build your reputation quick).
