Star Wars: The Old Republic [Fast Money Guide]

Everyone loves money, and those who love Star Wars: The Old Republic will be interested to know that money both comes and goes very quickly in the hottest new MMORPG this year. After grinding through a few hundred quests, and picking up sack-loads of items along the way, here are the fastest ways of picking up loot on your adventures through the galaxy.

    1. Questing -- Sure this obvious method is required by the developers in order to sustain your interest in the series, but simple main-line story questing in SWTOR will keep you well on track to picking up the loot. As an effective method for credits acquisition, questing throughout the game will pick you up a ton of cash, but you must be careful with how you spend your loot.

More often than not, users can get caught up in early level item buying fees, as well as crafting skills, which will rape your wallet. If you're looking for cash in abundance, you can't squander your precious on the prettiest helmet on the block. Use free gears, given to you by main quests and the occasional side quest to keep you moving along.

Crafting that new belt will also end up costing you. Avoid this at all costs.

As you pick up crew members, for adventuring throughout the galaxy, your crew members can train valuable skills, crafting being the primary amount of skills available, you may create your own lightsabers, armors, and the like - all of which cost you boatloads of cash to reach a proper level of skill to make worth while. Save your early dollars, and pick up the following.

    2. Slicing -- Your bread and butter in the money-making field, slicing is a "raw materials" sort of skill, which allows your crew to hack into lock boxes and take what's inside. Free money - sure it's not yours, but who cares?

I will primarily focus this skill at early levels, and keep it for it's pure "time is money" factor. Sending out your entire crew on missions to acquire lock boxes, you will find yourself profiting on this trade at about a 110% rate early, versus your investment.

As "slow and steady" tends to be the best methodology for going from nothing to something, I find this to be the most important skill to have in SWTOR for the cash-crop business. Let your money make money for you. Later levels make cash at a much higher rate than early levels in Slicing. Stop crafting up those boots, wasting away your skills and cash into the void. You have more important things to buy - Like that VIP lounge pass, and the speeder inside, valued at 1.5 million credits.
