Who's sticking around rs after the EOC?

I'm nearly maxed and I kind of gave up on runescape. I hate games with action bars etc, probably because I don't understand it and probably never will. I was actually ont he beta a lot and it's just spamming numbers. There's actually no skill to it at all. You just have to anticipate the next move your opponent makes which is what we currently do in runescape. So basically it's just longer fights with the certainty of someone leaving the fight.. It's just going to ruin the game.

It was the same thing when rsc switched to rs2, lots of raging people not understanding the new combat system.

You'll get used to it, and learn to like it the same as you do this combat system.

 

I am actually kind of excited, I love the idea of the easy weapon switches, I myself have a maxed account but am rather useless at bossing, but too be more specific, switch weapons such as spec weps, swapping from range to melee, etc. so for me, this update is going to help me greatly.

 

I'm still going to play regardless of the eoc update. Tbh the new combat system is definitely more fun than the current system. What I don't like about it is the removal of singleway combat, prayer nerf (Can't fully protect yourself from npc damage/prayers are overall less effective), and the way combat xp is gained (Xp on kill rather than hit). but you have to keep in mind that runescape is just a game, and for them to keep getting new players they have to update their game. If you don't like it there's always matrix and soulsplit to play on

The beta is here for a reason though. I expect that jagex would listen to the community and change some of the unwanted updates to make it better. http://services.runescape.com/m=news/devblog-changes-for-a-better-beta-

 

@tyrael I believe it is multiway combat in the beta because they want us to test some stuff out.

I will still be playing RS despite the EOC update, sure a lot of monsters need to be buffed to match up with the whole system, but I think it is less grindy than the current system.

 

^ I am making a skiller right now because tbh I don't like the combat beta at all, Jagex shouldn't fix something that isn't broken, and also they should give an option to go to RS3 or stay RS2 or something like that.

 

As more of a skiller myself, I'll most likely still be around for a while, although I won't like doing quest fights and stuff. I don't care much for what the beta is offering either way.

Unless they release it in separate worlds or as 'rs3' then no plus a lot of people are enjoying it because they get to run around with torva + div but haven't even tried it with the stuff they can afford in real rs.

 

not really it was actually a lot of people raging because the new system was crap and the old one worked, they're just making it even worse.

 

I wont be. I quit about a year ago anyway and seeing the videos of this new combat system doesn't make me want to return.

 

If you ever played wow runescape is going to be pretty much the same. I personally enjoyed playin wow and always wondered how runescape would be with wow toolbars and buffs and what not. Hopefully this would make me want to play legit for once

It is broken how it was set up

Melee beats Range.
Range beats Mage
Mage beats Melee.

Since the start cb 3-30 Mage dominated. At level 90 if you were a PURE mage vs a PURE melee you would get destroyed as mage.

Now if we boxed Arma storm vs any range Arma storm wins.

That's why it was broken.

Actually, I have never 'liked' this current combat system. RSClassic pking was ftw.
