What Sort of Car Should I Get?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to buy a new car, I currently drive an R33 GTS Nissan Skyline. Though, i'm sick of all the attention, the costs of repairs and all that shit. I want a four cylinder car that looks decent, and is relatively cheap to maintain, by cheap i just mean cheaper than my current car.

So please suggest any car that you would recommend, or that your friends would recommend which is four cylinders, it can't be turbo because i'm not allowed to drive turbo cars, and it can't be an import since i don't want another import car!

Go to the magic mile and pick up a cheap second hand piece of crap that gets you from A to B, then put the rest in a high interest rate account and in a few years, have a nice holiday. WIN

 

gti 1.8t, preferably 20 valve.

0-60 in 7 seconds flat, 40MPG, very reliable, parts cost next to nothing, easily modded.

roughly 5-6 grand for a lightly used one.

You're not allowed high powered/turbo/supercharged cars on an Australian L or P plate.

I've always loved commodores/falcons; grab one of them.

Or, get a BMW 330i Diesel from like 2004. I fell in love with that car after the top gear episode.

 

This, it's an amazing car.

Out of all those cars mentioned, i only know what a Honda Civic is. I'm not sure if the others are common in Australia or not. Could you maybe post pictures of them? I don't care if its easily modded or not anyway, though, since i will most likely be buying a Silvia S15 or 200sx in a year when i can drive turbo cars.

I don't want a commodore/falcon considering they are 6 Cylinder cars, and aren't they like 4.6L? So they use a fair bit of fuel.

Not really a fan over diesel cars, but i like the interior of BMW's so i'll considering it.

You can also get petrol versions apparently.

 

I personally like driving trucks. If you do go with a truck get it american made. Foreign trucks are straight up garbage. Ford and Dodge are my personal favorite.

Highs: 420 horses, an interior that finally befits the price, lovely to look at.
Lows: Odd steering, the V-6 is the better value, loaded with anti-fun software.

 

I don't want to be spending heaps on petrol since i drive a lot.

I don't think they sell them here as i've never heard of that brand, but i don't want a V6 anyway.
