    Depression pills?

Okay, who are doctors to judge for people being depressed.
It's only you who knows if you're truely depressed or not.

Sure people can put on a act, just for attention.

Also so many actually be depressed because of their passed, what goes on and whatnot.

My doctor/mom says I'm depressed, about two/three years ago, just because I dropped out of school, and didn't wanna go back.

Yes, I did have some stuff happen and peoples death in that time, but that doesn't make me depressed.

I hold my depression varely well actually, I don't even show it, because I don't have it.

I'm normaly a very happy person.

So I was put on the waiting list for a few years to see a shrink right.

A week ago she called said blah blah we'll make an app. for Oct 27th.

So it's a day before that time, she calls back and says sorry I have to cancel, etc.

I'm just like in my head " okay, I didn't even wanna see you in first place, I'm being forced too."

I am now classified as an adult, I'm 18 as of July.

Yeah, sure I listen to my Mother, because I love her to death, she's always been there for me, and she wont live that much longer, so I'm doing what makes her happy.

But holy fuck, my doctor says I need to be on depression pills.

    I told him FUCK NO.

I really don't believe in depression pills, helping you with depression.

I think the Gov. is fucked up for wanting to get money just for saying to someone "you're depressed, you need to be on some depression pills, for we can get more money!"

A few of my friends were on them, and all they did was make my friends be mega "emo", want to kill themselves, crying non-stop, and whatnot.

I told them to get the fuck off them, and you'll be fine.

They listened to me. & Look at them now, they're perfectily fine.

I'm aware EVERYONE gets "depressed" moments, but you don't have to be put a on a pill by some highclass person who has a Uni degree(s), who thinks they work/help you out.

    Discuss.

What do you think about depression pills?

    Depression pills?

depression should not be treated with pills, it should be treated mentally like how you caused it.

    Depression pills?

I took so many kinds of them, an they really don't do anything. I was still gloomy, and never wanted to do anything. But then again, it does have different effects on different people.

    Depression pills?

Obviously there are tons of side-effects, and the medicine is still being developed. But at some point, they will definitely help people out more than they hurt them... They have been tested vigorously, but obviously some people are still harmed by them. Eventually though, I think they will definitely help more people than placebo could.

And somehow, the fact that you said the pills make your friends "emo" really makes me want to question your knowledge in this subject to begin with. I don't think this can really be much of a debate, to be honest.

    Depression pills?

There are many side effects, but the most severe are ones that have a higher risk of occurring in kids in adolescence, but of course that's who they are mostly given to, the side effects can even worsen depression or give the person suicidal thoughts, and i think these medications are given out too easily, i feel they can be helpful in some cases, but i do think, unless extremely needed, they shouldn't be given out, as depression is a natural feeling just as being happy is, and if we use medications to hide away our depression from ourselves than in the future what if we dont have access to the pills? how would we be trained to deal with the hardest depression than, we might not be able to seeing as everytime before the pills took care of it for us.

    Depression pills?

They make you not care whats going on around you. Your mind becomes solo directed to what ever makes you happy, not sad or pain. you would be alright if something catastrophic happened. I think they should be outlawed, they also can provoke suicide.

    Depression pills?

Depression pills = No, because they are not for everyone.

Look into electric therapy, it has been proven to work at a very high percentage. I will definitely butcher the process, but they basically shock your brain and in a way that restarts the motions and actions and you literally return to normal within hours.

    Depression pills?

Actually, that's incorrect because psychologists have always known symptoms of being depressed, and they can even tell you what TYPE of depression you have, ie minor depression, dysthymic depression, etc.
