Hey here is my Guide to all the positions in soccer

The Field



Keeper/Goalie

The main job of the Keeper/Goalie is to well protect the ball from going into the goal. These players most likely are tall, Long arms and legs and usually have VERY quick reflexes due to making split decision choices. They must have a good depth perception to be able to calculate or see the arch of a shot or the outcome of a run. They need to be tough minded Such as Tim howard of United States because they are constantly being brutaly pounded shot after shot. Not only do they need to be physically strong but mentaly because most of the time the Keepers are the Spiritual Mentality of the entire team.


Defender

The defender. Defenders are usually very strong and MUST know the mentality of a opposing forward because thats who they are guarding(along with Midfielders) They must communicate very well with there midfielders to tell them where to go if there is a open spot or to push them forward when they are needed.


Midfielders:

Midfielders are like the bread and buttah of a football squad. There are 2 different categories so i will break them into 2.
-Outside Midfielders: Outside Midfielders need to be quick. they are usually dealing with faster opponents because most of the quick runs happen on the outside.
-Inside Midfielders: Inside Midfielders MUST have a VERY good sense of the field and need good passing/dribbling skills.


Forwards: Forwards are usualy the main scoring part of the team. They are fast, have excellent Dribbling skills, and have a VERY good touch.
