Okay, I couldn't think of a place to ask this other than here, if I'm wrong mods please move or close which ever suits the situation.

But I've noticed something weird. Maybe I missed something as I'm not on Sythe as much as id like due to lack of a computer :(

Anyways, I've noticed that people who aren't market mods now have the ability to close threads? But something else, its just people who have donated.. I'm sorta confused..

For example. I saw (I can't remember who) but the only rank he had was a RUNESCAPE mod, he closed thread... Someone please explain to me what has happened :O

Those with the rank of "RuneScape Mod" are Staff Members on Sythe. There are a few that may have multiple forum permissions (ie. RS & Market, RS & Off-Topic, RS & WoW, etc). I'm not sure if you were viewing the ranks wrong, in the wrong section, or what is causing the confusion.

As for what you had asked above, it seemed a bit confusing to me. If you could re-phrase and ask the above again, I would be more than happy to help out.

Mods are the only ones that can lock threads and sectionals can only do it in their section.

Mods can lock threads without posting on them, thats why sometimes you may see a non staff member at the end of a locked thread.

Yes, like Tckr said, moderators are the only users who have the ability to lock threads, normal users can't lock them. I'm not sure if you think this, but moderators don't need to post at the end of a thread to close it. They can close it without posting, which makes it seem like the non-moderator who posted last closed it, but it's a misconception.
