He claims it will be browser-based like RuneScape, but one or two steps beyond RuneScape HD's level of technology. It will have a science fiction theme and be aimed at an older audience.[18] In an interview with GamesIndusy.biz Iddison stated that Jagex have "got a very, very big investment into another MMO" and that it is expected to be released "early next year, Q1 2009" - when asked if it was the MechScape brand, he replied "I can't say too much more, I'm afraid".[19] On 18 June Iddison announced at the GameHorizon conference that Jagex had "a brand new MMO due for launch in March 2009".[20] As well as working on completely new projects, Jagex continues to develop its existing services. In relation to FunOrb, Jagex continue to release new games and intends to expand into the mobile phone games market.[21] In relation to RuneScape, Jagex continues to release new game content and is working French[22] and Portuguese[23] versions of the game. If you don't want to read that, basically JaGex is coming out with a new game. It will be similiar to RuneScape, and hopefully they won't ruin it like they did to RuneScape.

I don't play runescape anymore, but I do have to say when I did I loved it. I'm going to check it out when they come out with it. Probably wont play, but I'll definitely check it out

 

I think this should be in rs general.. seeing as jagex made runescape.
But i am looking forward to this somewhat.

 

I want to see what it looks like also. There will be a shitload of people on the 1st day though because of all the runefags, so the servers will probably crash or some shit.

Well I will be looking forward to it kind of. I can actualy maybe compete with everyone because I would be able to play it from the start.

I'm sure it will be somewhat similar, but at the same time a little different.

Good point. Since JaGex is pretty well know, a lot of people will be playing this game right when it comes out. Compared to RuneScape, when a lot of people didn't start untill it was 3-4 years old.

 

Sounds interesting. How did they ruin runescape though? It seems fine to me.

Looks interesting, to say the least. It's aimed at an older audience, so I'm hoping the community will be slightly better.

im not looking forward to it, i reckon it sorta kills it by being a sci-fi.

older based games, eg swords n that type of stuff, are pretty popular.

not many sci-fi based games do terribly well.

ill try it, but a cud garauntee after 2 days ill quit.

It won't crash the servers cause there will be a limit they aren't retards. "Runefags" as you call them will probably be to busy playing Runescape, when FunOrb came out I saw no change in the amount of players.

They already unveiled in dunno how many months ago. Well, I would like to try Mechscape but I'll stick to Runescape most likely.

 

The game will have the same trading system as RuneScape. It will already be "ruined".
