Moses not so clean after all

Moses a man in the bible who saved the Jews from slavery in Egypt
Yet in the bible it says that Moses beat down and killed a Egyptian slave master for hitting a Jew.
Now this man hit a Jew, yet Moses killed him.
Who even knows if this slave master didn't even want to be doing this, what if he was like a solider for Hitler most of them just did it because of a much more larger then normal peer pressure. Moses took this to far he killed a man without even thinking. Doesn't everyone deserve a second chance? Moses disobeyed god and yet was not punished more helped by the powers of god making magic things happen to him to help people believe he was really magically such as making his cane when thrown down turn into a massive alligator when the Pharaoh asked him to prove his all mighty powers. It really makes me think of how some of the bibles stories are almost contradicting to the moral beliefs of god:confused:
If you have anything to say or explain to me this predicament of the mind please do answer

More importantly, it almost certainly never happened.

Moses not so clean after all

    This most likely never happened.
Bible is JUST a BOOK like let' say Harry Potter and Philosophers' stone.

Exciting story on the bible, but unfortunately, not likely to it to be true.

The slave master killed the Jew.

Remember that this was the Old Testament. Things were much different back then. God didn't punish him because the Jews were God's people, and Moses killed the man for a good reason. It was sort of in self-defense. He was trying to save the Jew from getting beaten, so he pushed the master off the building. Perhaps he didn't even mean to kill him, just to push him away. So there you go.

i love how as soon as somebody brings up anything religious people bash on it relentlessly.
    BUT ON TOPIC
Nobody is perfect, not even god, fortunately for people who believe in christ, god forgives.

If you've actually read this portion of the text you'd realize two things about it:
    1. The taskmaster didn't just "hit" the slave; he was violently and ruthlessly beating him.
    2. Moses only pushed the taskmaster to the ground--the death was a freak accident.

Still, though, if you're approaching the meaning of the text as its practical impact on our lives (as you should be), you'd understand that the message here is that of opposition towards slavery and unjust treatment of other human beings.

According to christians, God is perfect. Thats the whole reason for him being God. Wouldn't be much point in worshipping someone who has faults, aspiring to be more like them. You'd be asking to fail.

    ON TOPIC
Much like Kleenex stated, God made a promise earlier on that whoever caused harm to his people, he would punish. Considering it's said in this book that he gave us all life, I guarantee that God has the right to take life away. Moses was one of God's People.
The Bible is the word of God to some. You cannot question acts of God if you believe it to be true, for by accepting that it's the word of God, you're accepting that he is God; an omnipotent, omniscient being. A paragon of holiness.
If you believe the bible, you don't question God's acts.

No-one in the bible was perfect. No-where in the bible does it say that anyone is perfect, except Jesus. So if you're looking for things that people did wrong, you're going to find that every story has something that someone did wrong.

King David; Lusted over this married woman. He sent her husband out to front-line war to guarantee his death so he could sleep with her.
God Himself; Tells Abraham to kill his only son to prove his loyalty to the Lord.

If you think that killing people isn't God's nature, then you are surely wrong.
He sent angels to destroy via flaming meteors, an entire city for they were corrupt.

Meanwhile, the Bible contains several guidelines for how slavery should be done, such as beating slaves, prices to buy slaves, etc. Slavery is only wrong when the slaves are hebrew.

I always thought there was more than meets the eye to Moses, since he backhanded the red sea and it split...

This website is funny. People hate getting proved wrong so they jump on the atheist wagon. I doubt half the people that claim they are a atheist never knew nothing about atheism before they came to this website. Hell, some people on this thread fail to write atheist properly LOL

Anyways on topic.. was this before the 10 commandments were given to moses?
