Looking for a decent used car

I have around 5-6g for a used car. I was wondering what you guys think I should be looking at. I need the best in terms of value, reliability, etc.

I'm thinking a Japanese, like a Nissan, Honda, etc, but I'm not sure.

2. Fuck Japan, get some 60's-70's American muscle. Given you can afford the 10 mpg that they get.

Get Nissan.

Nissan Skyline, Silvia, 180sx, 240 sx, 200zx (i think thats what its called), 350z, think theres a 300z too. Any one of those would be good lol .

 

lolol good luck getting a 300z,350z 200 zx or 240sx for 5-6 g's.
Even a decent skyline,silvia or 180 would cost you more i think.
Alot of the zed and sx series come with standard turbo too don't they?
I dunno what the restrictions are like anywhere else but in aus you can't have turbo'd cars on your provisonal licence...

 

Get a classic car. Bigger engine = More Gas, so you could pull off riding in a mustang or something with a 305 in it and get decent gas mileage.

no matter what you get, save enough money for a sound system. some 6x9s, a deck, and some 10s or 12s and an amp :3

that way, no matter how shitty your car gets, everyone will still wanna ride with you - not to mention, they are an extremely easy source of amusement via annoying old people

Buy a project car.. as in buy a car you put together yourself.. you can buy all the parts to build a "fake" working lambo for 7 g's think about it

 

Honda Civic Hatchback, from the 90's.

It lasted my dad a good 13 years, ran fine the whole time. It should still be running fine now, but I don't know the person who bought it off of him.

Camry is the way to go man. Cheap and lasts a HELLA long time.

 

Jesus don't get a civic or even a Honda period. You will be known as a ricer for as long as you have that car. You will be tempted to do stupid shit to it even tho it's not fast such as adding a big ass spoiler that does absolutely nothing to a car like that.

Some of you guys are saying buy a Skyline? or a 350? There isn't a chance in hell that you will get one of those cars mentioned for 5-6g. Personally I drive an 93' Eagle Talon, it's good on gas, it doesn't need a bunch of shit to make it look good and its fast as hell. I paid 4-5g for it and never looked back. You could check out Volkswagen cars, my uncles got an old Jetta with 600k on it, nothing ever done to it or rebuilt, now that's reliable.

The Mitsubishi that is posted above looks quite a lot like an Eagle Vision which is a down step from a Talon and also quite a bit older. Check out www.kijiji.ca and put in your price range and location, this is if you live in Canada, I'm not too sure if they have an American one etc, so try Autotrader.

Yeah i know you couldn't get any of those cars here for 5 - 6g's.

But i think he lives in America (i have no idea where that town/state is in his location, i'm assuming America) and the prices on cars there are a lot different. Also they can drive turbo regardless of whether they have a provisional license or not.

You can't even get 240sx's in Australia, or they are pretty rare anyway. I don't think you can get 180sx's in America though. But from what i can gather from my friend i talk to on msn who lives in America, you can get a pretty decent 240sx for 5 - 6g.

 

Toyota, camry or corolla. They last a long time, and have excellent gas mileage.
