Worried about racial hatred in England

I'm white and from england.
Personally I believe in multiculturalism and don't see the problem myself having friends from all continents.

Recently I've noticed an increase in racial tension, by that I mean many white people are starting to feel threatened by migrants and other races, mainly Islamic people.

Tension is on the increase with UKIP gaining votes and EDL gaining members.
Some friends of mine are starting to turn slightly racist with comments such as they kill our soldiers and we let them bomb us.

What I'm worried about is a serious civil war, by 2066 White British are expected to be a minority and I'm sure White British will become violent.

Opinions and facts please.

Honestly, I feel threatened. I'm a Muslim and live in the UK but I'm thankful that I live in London where I believe it is more safer than other areas such as derby, newcastle, woolwich where EDL currently go to. They plan on visiting Bradford (a heavily Islamic dominant city) and making a statement. I'm sickened by the sheer ignorance of these people, for one second I do not support the actions done by the 2 men in killing a soldier. They do not represent Islam and certainly are not extremists because firstly we don't allow murder of innocent people in Islam in the first place so they can't be labelled 'extremists' or even 'terrorists'. They have been brain washed and are crazy, honestly In no way am I defending them but whenever it comes down a Muslim conducting something, they would label them terrorists but if it was a non-muslim like the Sandyhook shooting, he was crazy and the people that killed the soldiers are crazy too because their actions are ridiculous!

Watching these EDL documentary's on Youtube frightened me and even though many of my white friends joke about EDL and me and my white friends have banter where they call me a 'paki' and I say 'white scum' but it's all jokes. However, it goes too far when some members from EDL attempt to arson a mosque and are very disrespectful. I bet you people don't even know the name of the person that was killed because they are so blinded by the fact that these people were Muslims.

On Facebook, there were many messages of support from my non-muslim friends and especially from the white background posting statuses on Facebook talking about the importance that you shouldn't judge a whole religion based on one person's actions and how it's stupid and EDL are intimidating thugs. Also, David Cameron and Boris Johnson have also highlighted that Muslims should not be blamed for this attack and whatnot.

 

All religions and people are the same man. I'm getting fucking tired of people treating muslims like shit, it's the EXTREMIST such as Al-quaida and jihadist that keep this shit going! Muslims are no different then Catholics, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, etc. We all come from one creator with several teachers. This is getting ridiculous, the level hatred toward the muslims. I personally am christian but i don't believe that muslims need to convert or be different? Their just people like us same with the jews. REMEMBER what Hitler thought???? That jews were the reason for all the bad shit? WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE muslims is a true HITLER mentality. I'm sick of this shit.

 

Stereotypes exist for everything, whether it be religion or something stupid like a music taste. Everyone is judged and hated on, there'll be racism wherever you go. Just got to suck it up and ignore the ignorance

 

I personally believe, you can't blame the whole muslim community for the actions of 2 converted muslims, the worst part about it is, not every single pakistani is a muslim, they could be sikh hell they could even be christian.. So what the EDL is doing, is going to create a horror movie for all pakistanis, even ones that don't believe in Muslim religion.

You know, I've meet a sikh pakistani before, and they are hands down, the most generous, kind hearted people I've met in my life. I work with an english bloke, and we had a sikh pakistani come into work. And he said the same thing, the kindest people you will ever meet.

But regardless, my personal opinion is that religion is just a load of crap.

I don't understand why you yourself should be scared, being a white, living in the UK. The only people seeking reprisal, are going to be the EDL/English.. You could imagine how many scared muslims there are, afraid to leave their homes.

These actions are not committed in the name of Islam, they are committed precisely because of Islam. If anyone actually read the Qur'an then they would realize that the pieces of shit who committed said crimes are actually closer to the literal interpretations of the epileptic, pedophile, illiterate madman commonly referred to as Muhammad.

When you move to a new country you abide by their laws, you don't bring your own. Simple.

 

Funny, my parents were born in England and so was I so no your post is not spot on because in all honesty, I feel happy here as there are equal rights for everyone and everyone is able to express their own religion (no ban on turbans for Sikhs, no ban on wearing crosses for Christians, no ban for wearing a veil for Muslims, no ban on wearing a Bindi for Hindus). Now you spouted this knowledge from most likely the speech you heard from the converted Muslim who talks about "his lands". Like I said before, he does not represent the WHOLE of Islam and no that doesn't mean all Muslims are unhappy with the law, I'm just unhappy with the amount of prejudice and discrimination is going on in this country right this minute and that's what I'm fighting for. I do not in anyway believe the act committed by the supposed "Muslims" was correct and should have been approach in a different way like a peaceful protest without any violence. And you can't say that me fighting for my rights means I hate the country, it's like Martin Luther King fighting against racism and for equality in America so that's hardly hating the country but trying to change it for the better.

As a Sunni Muslim, I believe the Qur'an has literal interpretations, not HIDDEN messages which the Shi'a and Brevelay believe. The majority of these groups commit acts of self-harm in the name of Islam and also believe that Jihad relates to suicide and blowing yourself up in the name of Allah? However, there is greater Jihad and lesser Jihad. Lesser Jihad is creating peace in the community like answering questions about Islam, helping your neighbor, helping the community, preaching about Islam (not in a oppressive manner). Greater Jihad is achieving peace within oneself for example against sins like lust, stealing, greed, temptations, etc. like the 10 commandants.

Oh, that's odd. The Mosque I attended from 12 - 15 (now 16) every weekend taught me something. My teacher taught me that I have to abide by the laws in the Country in which you stay UNLESS it goes against your beliefs in Allah. As in, if they don't allow me to pray 5 times a day or allow me to go to a Mosque I should fight for my rights. Also, a quick search gave me the proof in the Qur'an which supports that I should abide the rules in the set country:

Surah 4 : Ayah 59: "O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you"

 

Well, I wouldn't be so worried. Every country has its own racism problems and believe me, England is not in the top of the more racist countries in EU. I live in UK atm and I do see people are rather racist towards migrants, but the idea itself is that every country will have migrants and racism is somewhat of a relic from the past. Factors such as religion and nationalism contributes a lot to racism, which is why I think overtime it should fix itself, though casualties are of course bound to arise as the tension will go up, but honestly, I don't think you can do anything about it.

The biggest reason behind many conflicts is that neither side will try to cooperate and will rather do stupid things to achieve what they think is true.
