Help with a citation from driving

I received a citation about 1 month and 3 weeks ago. How long am I suppose to wait before setting up an arraignment and jury trial with the police, judge, and me.

Also, there are people who tell me that after they have a court date or jury trial, before 5-10 days, they "extend" it for personal or immediate reasons for another month or so. Does this consider having your speedy trial waived?

Why do people even do this, to give more time for a cop to forget or might be busy in the future? but then if you just attended your court date or whatever it is called after the arraignment or after pleading not guilty, and show up to court and cop doesn't appear, you would win??

honestly, this is so confusing but what i am going to do is go to arraignemtn and plead not guilty, and get trial within 45 days without waiving my speedy trial rights and appear to court.

"The Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees "a speedy and public trial" in all criminal cases but fails to say exactly what "speedy" means. Many states have laws defining that last term. For example, California requires that a case be dismissed if not brought to trial within 45 days of entering a not guilty plea before a judge."
