help with visa card with memebers please!

I purchased a visa card debit card prepaid for rs membership. Now for the signature spot do i need to sign it and then they swipe the card? Cause i tried to use it like 5 minutes ago and i got the error of this

yo is it a pre paid visa gift card? thats wat i use, i think they mean wit the signature is the 3 numbers on the back of the card, idk u shouldnt have to sign anything. idk i might b talkin about sumthin completely different

Either I'm confused on what your trying to say or your confused. What do you mean swipe the card?

The signature spot on the back of credit cards is for security purposes. When ever you use it at store (not online stores) you sign the receipt. So if someone stole your card the store wont except them if their signature doesn't match the one on the back of the card. Most stores ask for ID anyways (not sure if they would if its a prepaid card, not sure if those have you name on them)

I think the thing your thinking of is the security number. Which is on the back of your card. Its 3 numbers usually by the signature area.

When they swipe it they activate the card... Its not from the bank. Its from a CVS Store.
