Getting a name.

Had someone with a certain name added and the guy with the name changed his name to something and now his name is something else... It says last known as and I was wondering if there was a time period where I could get it or not. Does anyone know?

 

After 28 days, he has the option to change his name again.
He has another 7 days inwhich he could change back to that name before it is taken by someone else. If after the 7 days he hasnt changed his name back to "last known as", then its up for grabs by anyone.

Most likely he did this for fun and will change back, OR he is planing on selling it.

Where did you get this information from? Once you change your name it's open for anyone.

 

And when he sells this name it will be removed from his last known as?

Oh. What the hell? I tried changing it and it wouldn't let me but if it were like that, then when i added the name I wanted, it wouldn't bring up this guy's name, which is the same guy who had it before, that now has the different name...

 

There are one of two scenarios where a name that someone has as their "previously known as" name become available.

1) They change their name a second time to something different than it.
2) Like Arto said, once you change your name once, you essentially have 35 days until it becomes open to someone else, but only after 28 days can they reclaim it.. If that makes any sense.

Example:
Guy's name is "A". He changes his name to "B" on Day 0.
On Day 28, "B" will have the option to reclaim the name "A".
On Day 35, if "B" has still not changed his name back to "A" then the name "A" will be available to anyone.

To figure out if the name you want is available, substitute the person's current name in for B, and the name you want in for A.

Once he has changed his name he has the option to change it back after his 30 days, to get the name you must change it on the 31st day. That's straight from the RuneScape website.

 

no, if i had the name persay "Goblin" and changed my name to "lolzor100" and kept that name untill i could change my name back again, as soon as i was able to change my name back, i could change it back to goblin.
