Help with computer speed.

[thorne_bro]

Ok well, is there any way at all to boost my computer's process speed...
Here is my computer's details...

Computer:
Intel(R)
Celeron(R) CPU 2.60GHz
2.59 GHz, 248 MB of RAM

Is there any way to boost all of that to make it go very fast?

Also, what would an estimate be of the cost?

Btw, I have tons of shit on here... Such as Audacity, Sony Vegas Pro 8, Camtasia Studio 5, and Photoshop CS3 Extended...

All of those programs are essential to me... and that's about all that I want from this computer... besides maybe messengers but I can reinstall those once i get everything normal...

Any help?

Try the guide in my siggy for some good computer optimizing tips \/

If you're willing to spend money, invest in RAM - I bought 4 gigs from Crucial.com for seventy bucks, that's a pretty good deal.

Option One: The most safest probably would just be to get more memory and processor installed.

Option Two: Overclock your processor clock and hope to get it a couple of MHZ's higher. This will shorten the life-span.

Option Three: Extend your page-file so you have more free physical memory. This can only be done with the biggest contiguous section of your hard-drive. For instance, if I had 3gb of contig space. I could have 3gb of page-file memory.

[Hello Miss799]

You have a really low amount of RAM, so you would se a significant increase of speed if you upgraded it to around 2G.

For your processor, you can try overclocking it. You may need a better cooler though.

EDIT: Here's a overclocking guide, you should read this if you have never overclocked. www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/1567-intel-overclocking-guide.html
