    help with c

    if someone know any guides to c programing. i need help the only thing i know how to do is to get the computer to print stuff out. i want to know how to get it to display stuff on screen.

    Your best bet is to start with something simple. Java maybe, that has lots of tutorials. C was born in the 80's so its very old. Still, very useful. But its also hard, and isn't Object Oriented. C++ would then go after Java, then last C if you feel the need to learn it ;)

    @qwertyasdfzxcv,

    It seems you've already met the venerable printf(). What is it you want to do? Create windows, etc.? If so, you will either need a lot of patience with C/C++ or do as Swan suggests and move into Java or Python.

    Perhaps you can take a peek at XUL or the new Adobe AIR if you are more familiar with web programming.

    i want to know how to get things on screen it to click stuff and for it to type stuff in a window not the command prompt

    dont listen to swan. swan, are you insinuating that C is not a simple language and that Java is? oh boy, dear child you must be confused. C is not a hard, as that was the first programming language i learned. and there would be no need to learn C after learning Java and no need to learn C++ after learning Java either. get your facts straight. don't tell someone something you don't know about.
