    help with a gaming computer

Hey everyone! I'm looking to build a high-end gaming computer. My budget will be around $2,000. I'm saving up for it atm. I will hopefully have enough for it around December-January.

Can anyone give me ideas for a good build? Is it possible to build a high-end gaming PC for $2,000?

I wanted to use this case, because it's fucking sexy IMO:

Come back when you're building it, new parts could be out and shit. And $2k is a fuck ton, could easily get away with cheaper.

Hai. I don't think anything noteworthy is gonna be out by then unless they plan on changing something up really fast. AFAIK, 7xxx series is supposed to be out in December but they're only doing the noob GPUs, none of the enthusiasts. Haven't heard anything about the 6xx series either. Been hearing reports of Ivy Bridge in Q4 2011 but I'm thinking probably just OEM chips if anything.

@OP that's still quite a long way off. Anything we suggest now could be irrelevant by the time you're actually doing the build. If you were building right now though, with $2k, you could probably do a 580 SLI + 2600k setup pretty easily.

    I said could, :p.

but IMO don't try to plan a build months before hand, prices change, parts can come out etc etc.

$2000 will get you a beast. But wait until you have the money to look for parts because shit is constantly changing. I would assume that after Christmas some manufacturers will be releasing some new hardware since they use Christmas to try and sell off all their old shit, then release the new so people will always have something better to buy. Just a theory though.

If you're spending that much money on a case, consider one like this maybe.
