    Help Trouble with installing new internal harddrive
    K Hey Guys Today i bought a wd WD10EALS 1TB Internal Harddrive i put in sata and power cable and it shows on the device manager but i have no way of making it show a drive on my computer so plz help

    Do you have it jumpered correctly?
    I.E. master/slave etc.

    If the jumpers are correct then in Device Manager right click it and choose "Update Driver". If that doesn't work then get Driver Magician or something of the sort and try do it via that. Also have you checked your BIOS?

    no no no...
    I've never used jumpers with SATA drives...

    you need to assign a drive letter and path. are you using xp or windows 7?

    in win7 go... control panel > administrative tools > computer managment > storage > disk management.. Find your HD in the list on the bottom half of the window, If it is already partitioned, just right click, and choose assign drive letter and path. Then, follow the wizard..
