I am looking to get into graphic design but honestly have no idea where to start? If you have any tips, websites, tutorials or advice it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

www.sigtutorials.com gives nice tutorials which explain each of the tools in context to show some of the effects they can give. It's not really about web design but it's nice to get a decent knowledge of photoshop before trying to move onto your primary goal.

When you say you wanna learn web development do you mean the actual building, such as coding, or the design, the art part. If you wanna do the coding part you can look on lots of online tutorials but, and professional web developers may back me up, its gonna be a lot easier to just get yourself a book on the matter. Start out learning HTML. its your first step, from there you can move onto learnign CSS, javascript, the other codes if you wanna do more (php and the such). Web coding isnt easy ill tell you that, i dabble in it every so often and its not easy work, your gonna have to be commited.

For the artsy part, what i like, get photoshop, get dreamweaver (start out in ps), look for some inspiration from your favorite websites, and just try it out.

    Where To Start?

If you want to learn how to create websites and such not, then the best place to start is by learning a coding language such as CSS & HTML. Programs I would reccomend are PS & Dreamweaver. http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp that is a pretty good place for almost everyone to learn HTML. As for the designing aspect of it there are numerous websites that provide tutorials, free .PSD's and more. Just use google ;)

    Where To Start?

I started with the site www.tutorialized.com

It's an INCREDIBLE collection of tutorials for photoshop, dreamweaver, HTML (and other programming languages), illustrator, flash, etc. A complete list is on the left hand column if you open the page. Tuts from all over the internet are amassed here in a nicely organized system, and you can log in and save favorites and bookmarks and shortcuts to relevant tutorials, etc. I love this site.
