Help please[ASAP PLEASE]??

A new user was trying to buy gold from me and was pretty clueless, the user sent money via PP and I got this message from PP
"eCheck estimated completion: 5/9/2011-5/11/2011. We recommend that you don't ship items until you receive payment."
At this time I told the user,
"I say:

its the way you paid
22:09:11
We can do 2 things right now...
22:09:39
1. I can issue a paypal refund
22:10:13
2. I can give the money to a middleman until the check clears but you will have to pay the middleman 3m(mod on sythe Farcast)"
At this time the user logged off. I will refund the money after it clears but what do I do to prevent any kind of scam accusation? This just happened and the user might log back in shortly but I am just trying to cover my back, help ASAP would be great. Thanks in advance!

 

If he just logged off without any warning I would just suggest pming while leaving anything on paypal alone. Wait until he responds and of he does not, refund his money when the eCheck clears.

 

I would suggest you wait until he logs back on to talk about it further.

I've read somewhere however that even if you refund someone, they can still chargeback, putting your account into negative balance. I'm not sure if this applies with eCheques, however try posting here as some experts with PayPal may be able to assist you - sythe.org/showthread.php?t=841592&page=10

 

Well if I refund it now and it doesnt clear I will owe PP, and I stayed logged in for 3 hours and he didnt come back on, nor has he been on sythe.

EDIT He claimed it back anyways so Im good, hes trying to buy more off me now though! LOL!
