Waris Ahluwalia, barred from AeroMexico plane

Saw this was mentioned on Casey Neistat's vlog this morning and thought it was interesting:

What do you guys think about this in general? Should he have removed his turban? Was the airline insensitive for even asking?

 

Was there any credible reason given by the airline security to warrant the invasive search in the first place?

^This is unforgivable on the airline's part, if this is true.
