How safe is player auctions for buying phats?

I consider 700+ USD alot of money, but I am planning on buying a phat, either that or buying the RSGP here in increments enough to buy a phat in-game, I just want to know if its 100% safe to risk paying USD up front for a phat with PA. I know that PA acts as middleman and that sometimes people have problems with other people scamming them and recalling their accounts they buy, but this is regarding in-game digital goods, how safe is this? thanks

The only bad things I have heard about PA are people winning charge backs after getting goods from X person. A wide amount of gold sellers accept PA now, which makes me think (for sellers) it is at least slighly safer than PP.

As for buying, the only thing to beware of (and it is obvious) that I can think of is someone not giving you the item after you pay. But that fear is anywhere lol.

 

Very safe, particularly for buyers. But they charge 10% fee. You would be better off going with an OMM on these forums and paying them the 10% fee. Since you are the one buying you don't have to worry about chargebacks, so it should be a pretty easy trade once you find a seller

 

Why would I be better off buying here when the same OMM fees apply? ty for input, on a scale of 1-10 though how safe would you say buying an expensive item like a phat off PA be?

 

I assume the reason he says you are better off paying an OMM here, would be because you 100% know who you are supposed to get the P Hat from (by choosing your own OMM)

 

It's easy to get scammed on player auction, If you give the buyer the gold he can say he didn't receive the gold and get his money back.
I don't know why everyone Is saying a charge back Is a problem on PA It Is not. PA gets the money, as soon as they buyer confirms that he receives rsgp, PA sends money to the seller and the seller keeps the money for permanent.

 

Well I'm the one whose going to be buying, the one I'm buying from is selling a phat, but I understand the way PA works now, they are an official middlemans, would/have they ever stolen from buyers paying alot of money for things like phats though?

 

They would not steal. But the seller of phat could say he never received the money in-game and PA would believe him. And you get scammed of what ever amount.

 

But I'm the one buying phat, I thought I send the USD to the PA middleman, than they wait for me to confirm if I have recieved the item (phat) before giving the seller my USD, isnt that how it works?

 

Why not just buy from Sythe using a super trusted OMM ?

 

PA is extremely safe.

They don't get their money until the prove proof that they gave you the item.

The only downfall of PA is it's hefty fees, however when trading with such a large amount, I'd rather pay extra for the security.

From everyone that I know that's dealt with PA it's 100% safe. PA doesn't give the seller a dime until you confirm you've received it - if you don't the seller could provide proof that he did give it to you and then it'll take a longer while for the payment to process. Video the entire thing if you're skeptical and show it to PA if there's any funny business and they'll refund you every cent. I'd daresay it's safer than a Sythe OMM considering there's been a few wayward ones on here but never at PA.

 

It appears that you have no used playerauctions before and that you are confusing the buyer and seller and middle man roles. First of all, when using player auctions they encourage you to screenshot most aspects of the trade. If the buyer decides to claim he never received the money after he actually got it PA will ask the seller to provide proof that he gave him the item/gp. If the evidence is sufficient then the buyer gets the item still and seller still gets the money. If they buyer never gets the item then they just return the money.

It is safe for both parties, however it is a long annoying process that I despise.

Player Auctions is a very safe way to pay for this.. there is a risk of being scammed, yes. But it is safe. You could also use an OMM on the forums here.

 

I'm looking to invest in aphat and even make real cash merchanting them, since its what I use to do, I don't see me losing any profit buying phat as long as I can make the deal happen without any problems
