Help me play RS at school.

I'm in need of help... My school has blocked almost anything fun:'(, besides Sythe of course:noworry: Anyway you guys can help me play RS at school?

You could try using team viewer or something along those lines. And if you have your own laptop that shouldn't be an issue.

 

Depends how strict your I.T. department is on school computers. You've heard this before but you are at school to work, don't waste your time there. Plus trying to bypass the Internet filter is setting you up for trouble.

I would only be playing when my work is completed, other then that I wouldn't be using it.. I have a computer class.. The work takes about 15-35 minutes to complete.

 

There's ways of bypassing. I'm no expert but to access facebook/twitter we used to type something in the cmd command box (proxy related I believe) and it worked like a dime.

 

No I mean team viewer for connecting to another computer... what are you talking about? The IP doesn't matter because it's the service being blocked not the IP.

It depends on how stringent your school's blocking really.

In my old high school, they blocked literally EVERYTHING.

However, here are some things you can try doing that can get around filters:
- Use the CMD prompt and type in the exact IP address.
- Access a VPS
- Use a private proxy

There's a for more I forgot to mention most likely, but those are some of the basic ones.

The last thing you want to do is play runescape at your school.

 

The first thing I would try is using a proxy that supports java. It has to support java, otherwise RS won't work.

If that doesn't work, there are other options.

 

Download the RS downloadable client, put that on a flash drive, insert said flash drive into school computer, voila. Alternatively you could download Tor on the school computer for a way to get around the proxies

I would just leave it as it is and focus on your education. As hard as it is to believe it's something that is pretty important in your life.

 

Try using Google Chrome and the Data Compression Proxy extension from the Chrome Store. That may work. That is, if you're not allowed to run .exe files.

Another thing to try is creating a VPN through Windows with a third-party VPN. To do this, go through control panel: (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center - Setup a new connection or network)

If your IT department allows you to run executable files through the Group Policy, there are tons of ways around this. There's TOR, VPN .exes, MAC Spoofers (I wouldn't recommend this), and so on.

As for the question of morals: The OP is asking for the tools and/or information to do a certain task. It's up to him to take care of himself and his own responsibilities.

This lol. Secondary school is basically day care, you don't learn for the 8 hours they keep you there.

 

Most schools have software that allows the administrator to visually inspect all screens that have been logged on, so they will know you are bypassing any restrictions and wasting time on the computer. Whilst you really should be learning in school, I can only advise that you use your mobile internet connection using a portable Teamviewer application to complete basic tasks.. But get your work done.

 

By the sounds of the OP, he's on a desktop, so he would probably need to buy a wifi adapter for a mobile hotspot setup. Alternatively, there's the use of a tether setup such as FoxFi for Android, and possibly Apple (limited data transmission with the free version).

However, if you can't end the tasks that your school's IT department uses to remotely view what you're doing, then you're screwed all the way around. The application should stay open and connect to the internet (and their servers) anytime you do. You could block this with a firewall, possibly.

And this is where IT gets you good. When you're surfing the web to look for ways to bypass their group policy, web filters, or whatever else, they can then, in most cases, go back and review your web history regardless of whether or not you delete it. So, using that, they find the workarounds that you learned and then just simply patch it. Back to the drawing board and more time wasted. ^_^

Oh, and generally, bypassing the restrictions set on school computers is usually as simple as gaining administrative access to the actual computer, rather than the network/server that everybody logs into.
