What on EARTH is this?!

I recently found myself browsing the RSForums, quite shocked to find a rather large amount of people would actually prefer to have what we are discussing on here as typical Fagex, money loving, greedy idiots.

I have played RS for upwards of 7 years and YES, there were bots commonly placed near yews, some near essence, a few in mines and so on, but there were never this many.

"Jagex definitely need to change their strategy for auto-typers.
It wouldn't be too hard to identify and mute those accounts automatically. For example they could use a black list approach, all they'd have to do is keep up with the ways bots get around the chat filter, if anything gets typed that's on the blacklist, block it and issue a mute (maybe just a temp mute for like, an hour or something).

Can this many people really be trolling? I don't think so, I really feel that after watching all these videos of RS being infested by bots, but now after reading this, I realise most of the community are pricks too.

Fagex really need to take a stand and even if it means they lose their precious money, it will save the life of RS, which I must admit, is dying. They will make more money in the long run if they re-stable the economy, and help us out, than if they just let it die off.

This is by no means the 'wrong' or 'right' thing to do, voice your opinion here, it's only my personal view.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that RS thread. I seriously do hope they are trolling but I mean that many people are all in it.. it wouldn't be likely. Good grief RS seriously is coming to an end if players suggested this.

I think it is just a troll to get back at Jagex I mean look at those suggestions like "Buying friends, buying pets, buying Jmod"..those can't be serious. Gonna check the thread out some more and update this post on what I think.

I just find this whole idea crazy , I don't know if it's because the people and OP are COMPLETE and UTTER retards, and don't realize what will happen, or.. or... That's all I can think of.

There is no reason for them to be so naive.

Also, FAGeX could quite easily release this update and deflect the blame by saying something prick-like, for example: "After we receive a large amount of support from our player base" or "The majority of you" where actually, it's based of a small amount of players who are not aware of economic situations and their entire life is based around RS. OH, and the fact that Fagex are greedy bastards.

 

This may not be good news for you guys but, for the average casual gamer? Its good news if you don't wanna bot, or you can't play 24/7...Honestly, quit fucking crying and just play the game. The economy is outrageous right now anyway, you can't say it will ruin the economy.

I can imagine Jagex finally agreeing to start up some kind of official RWT, but charging like $5/m or something ridiculous, as they know players will still buy it. I can't see them selling specific items, such as drops like whips or bandos or divines, and especially not generating rares. If they did that they would really be punching themselves in the balls.

 

If Jagex did implement this it would mean less players which = less money. And as well all know Jagex is money hungry.

 

Less players in the long run. Not the short run. YES, SOME would quit I agree with you there, but the money would be made back with people buying mills/items.

YES - People would quit after buying items and then getting bored, but Fagex would've made that back with the stuff they already bought...

Don't forget the new game they have under development, what's better keeping it as it is and RS dying in a year or so, or squeezing out £500k more out of the game, and it shutting down in a year. Eh?

They may as well make RS a spawn server, I'm serious. With the way they're going, they could announce "TROLOLOL BYE HOUR MEMBUURRRRSHIP NAO AND GET :ICKUP FUR YUR ACCOUNT LOL. MAYKS U HAPPEH AND US MOOLAH."

I can't believe you really are that surprised.. for most people who don't bot an d choose to have nothing to do with it, the game is already completely ruined.If they follow the general statement that is stated alot here, which is that Jagex doesn't ban the p2p bots because they are greedy, It hink what they are suggesting is only logic and is an option preferable to a game filled with bots. At least then you have someone to talk to.

This would ruin the economy and ruin the game. Jagex would never do this.. That is why they offer their own spin on RWT such as the Loyalty Program and refer a friend..

Which are both terrible updates imo.
