Hey guys and gals, I've noticed that within the sporting section, there is no sub-section relating specifically for individual sports. Rather than searching through multiple threads, perhaps it would be easier to have a single thread for any/all discussions relating to football (Proper football, not the American "Football" ;)).

Hopefully this can take off, and this thread will be able to house discussions on the biggest transfer saga's, the biggest fixtures, the biggest controversies and everything else in between!

Whilst banter between supporters is too be expected (and in some part, encouraged), lets try to keep things respectful still ^_^

To start things off, I'll include a poll on this thread regarding one of the biggest transfer saga's ongoing currently: Wayne Rooney.

Where do you think he will go?

That's it from me, feel free to post anything and everything football related, and perhaps even introduce yourself a little ;) Hopefully we can make a great community out of this!

Rooney is going to stay. Whether he likes it or not.

I absolutely agree with you. If United don't want to sell him, they won't. They certainly are not in desperate need to offload him.

Unfortunately for him, he needs to be playing regularly this season to be considered for the world cup next year. So either he pulls his finger out and stops fucking around, or he begs for a transfer and hands in a request.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I mean...you'd think the guy would want to play for Manchester United. If you can't get up to play for bloody Manchester United you ought to retire.

Mark my word. The whole " not for sale " thing is just them asking for more cash. He'll most probably end up in Chelsea if I have to bet.

Perhaps so, and I personally hope this is the case if United do decide to sell him. As I said, United are in control of this saga, Rooney is the one that needs game time to ensure a spot at the world cup, so they can certainly afford to hold out and get a decent price rather than being forced to sell at a ridiculously discounted price

Jose Mourinho has admitted to the press that Wayne Rooney is the only transfer target of Chelsea this summer. [SkySports]

Doesn't mean they'll actually get him ^_^ If United don't want to sell, they won't

United already said no to Chelsea..so that's looking grim for them.

United also offered 60 mil euros for Bale

As much as I'd love to see Bale at United, I just don't see it happening personally. Levy is an asshole, he'd try to hold United to ransom for Bale

lol at all you delusional man u fans here.

If Rooney wants to leave, he'll get his wash. United are just trying to get the best bid they can for him. His wages are huge, and you can't just keep a player like him on your books if he doesn't wanna play for you. United will sell him unless they fix their relationship with him, mark my words.

I'm fine with Rooney leaving, if he can't get up to play for Manchester United not sure why he doesn't just retire then. No better team is going to take him. Not like RM Barca or Bayern really want him.

Of course they are. United are making sure that other clubs don't try to offer some shit price for him because he wants out. People are crazy if they think United would entertain an offer for less than 25m for him. End of the day, we don't need to sell him. He's the one that needs game time if he wishes to play in the World Cup, so he'd better suck some ass to get back into the United team, or beg Chelsea to put in a real offer worth something to take him away.

He's turned into a real whiner, he'd fit in well with Chelsea.

Possibly if they don't put in an offer for Suarez. I'd prefer Rooney to go abroad and disappear than move to another club in England if I'm honest.

Hopefully even use him as a bargaining chip to bring Ronnie back home ;) One can hope...
