Half wine, pointless.

Why, why i beg you would you spend stupid amount's of cash on this useless item.

At least with a party hat you can wear it.

Yeah i agree... It pointless. There are a couple items like that

 

I guess people just like showing it off. Seeing as you can no longer obtain it it's quite a nice item to just flash around. I kind of agree though, a bit pointless.

 

It's discontinued. It's rare. Of course it'll cost more whether it has a purpose or not.

 

No idea why anyone would want one, i had a few back in 06-07 when i used to merch b4 g.e etc, but that was for profit only, its just a waste of cash generaly lol.

Same applies to Pumpkins, Disk of returning and Easter Egg.
But if you think about it, the half wine jug is actually the rarest item among all other types of rares. Party hats and Christmas crackers were dropped to people and they were intended to be picked up and worn. Same thing applies to Easter Egg, H'ween masks and Pumpkins. Although the Disk of returning was not a "gift" from Jagex, players who wanted to visit their friends in the black hole (place where all banned people are sent to), had to purchase it.
But who kept a half wine jug on their bank that was worth less than 5 coins in their bank?
Nobody. Imagine that one day, Jagex gives a success rate of 100% to cook shrimps. How many people would have in their bank "burnt shrimps"? Not that many. Scenario would be a little different and more complicated with the half wine jug because only experienced players would be able to know how to use or make wine jugs... So banking "half wine jug" would be really not that common, thus is the reason it is considered the rarest item among all other types of rares.
Party hats and crackers, especially after getting duplicated before, shouldn't be considered the rarest just because they are the most expensive. It is just because you are actually able to wear them and show it off that their prices are that high..

 

The only reason why people have them still is because they expect them to continue to rise. Obviously there is no point to them.

 

i agree, verry pointless, such as so are party hats, santas, pumpkins, half wine, and x mas crackers.

Haven't played in a couple months so I'm sure the prices have drastically increased... Well, at least I still have my h'ween =)
Wish I never traded my pumpkin for a guthans set back when they were the same price though =/

Back to the question though, I would rather have any wearable rares over non-wearable. Even if it meant a party hat set over a cracker.

 

people want it and buy it because its rare and they want to be able to say "i have an item that very little people have" of course they are useless, all rares are pretty much useless but people buy them for the point of being able to say "i have this and you'll never get one"

Easters & Pumpkins as well.

The reason it's so rare is because it is so pointless. No one ever thought they would get bought out, their price hasn't changed in over 12 months, people would sell for half junk half cash.

Then someone with bills bought them out for med under everyone's eyes. Now since no one has one they are extremely rare.

 

The point is they are rare. There is a limited number of this particular item which makes the price high. It is the same as antique items... There are a limited number of them, you can't do anything with them, but they are so expensive because of their rarity.

Whats even more rediculous is about a year ago I witnessed someone buying an Empty Jug for around 20mil because the seller claimed it held a Half*Full*Wine*Jug once.

 

For the rarest item in the game, i think it's relatively cheap.

 

i would NEVER spend that much just for something to sit in my bank, same with pumpkins, disks, easters. Not even phats cus they do nothing and they are epicly expensive, santas r the sickest rares and not that bad in price
