Police do not have jurisdiction over this kind of thing. Also, if you look at runescape's terms of service, you'll notice that all rs accounts are property of jagex, not of their creators. So really there was no theft at all, unfortunate as your situation is

Honestly, I feel really bad for you. I'm not sure the in/outs of Western Union so I don't really know what to tell you. You are prohibited from the transferring of RuneScape accounts anyway, so you coudln't go to Jagex. The cops dont have the authority in this situation, and He got his account back and 300$. You're pretty SOL.

It was legal, just against Jagex Terms of Services.

    Inform the police.

informing the police wont do anything. He himself violated the terms of service, so is admitting to doing just as much wrong as the guy who took his money.

In effect, when buying an account, youre paying to break the jagex terms of service. And the other guy is just as guilty as you, the perfect crime

Police will not do him anything for violating Jagex TOS.

If you steal, you commit a crime, so you need to be punished.

Pay with PayPal next time so you can charge back if the account was recovered. As for the seller, he shouldn't have any problem with accepting PayPal, cause if you charge back he can still recover his account so you're both good.

Firstly try to contact him and say you will contact the police.

After that you can try to contact the police, maybe the police will contact him and you will make an agreement.
